I agree with E.O Wilson, we can work together to say this planet. This is a problem that affects both secular and religius people. God created this planet as a garden and put man in charge of to care for it. (Genesis 1:26)
I don't know what God is telling you, but He's telling me He didn't create this planet for man to take for granted.

OOPS I'm mistaken, several believers attack also, but I still believe there are people, both secular and those that have faith, out there who believe the only way we can succeed is working with the 'other side'

While it is true that as long as the enemy wanders the planet, there will be war, but doesn't God tell us in Ephesians that we should fight evil wearing the full armor of God??? Doesn't that include what the adversary is doinig to our planet?

I think we can work together while athiests and christains alike can be hotheaded sometimes i think we all could work together the save our dear planet. And for all the christains not wanting to work with athiests think of this what your doing is the same thing athiests are doing to us youre rejecting them and being darn right mean! It's not that hard to live with athiests *I'm still in school i see a lot of it*

I agree completely with the concept of working together to save the planet, I just do not believe that it will necessarily happen. Everyone on this Earth could do just one thing to help save the world and make it a better , healthier place to live. But at the moment, there are many wars going on, some we may not even know about. It would be extremely hard to get EVERYONE to do just one thing, there are to many people out there who are just too lazy to do anything. I am not taking this into religious standards for the sake of the fact that I would have a novel written, but, alot of people wouldn't want to do anything simply because they would love to help the Earth, they just want to bash our beliefs, so they won't.
I wouldn't start worrying about the Earth just yet though, it was built tough. It has lasted millions of years, and it is going to keep on lasting.

The planet wasn't a Garden, but only a small part of it which was East of Eden. Eden is considered to be the cradle of civilization, East of that is Israel, which is why God may have a special love for that part of the globe.
Man can never work together. This planet is the property of Satan, it was given to him when Adam sinned. He is the root of all evil here, and will always cause man to war.

While I applaud Professor Wilson's initiative, I think he gives religion too much credit.
Because it's essentially political in nature, religion will (sooner or later) use whatever it can get from science toward the furtherance of its own ends, which may or may not be compatible with those of science. Not being politicians, most scientists don't understand this; and I fear Wilson may be one of them.

An important step in saving the planet will be eradicating all religion from it.
