A very weird question. A Moslem does not expect non-Moslems to change their daily routine for his/her own sweet sake. Fasting is a personal challenge.

I'm a Muslim (okay, you might not consider me that because I don't do any of that stuff, other than fasting) and I'm just laid back and don't impose anything on anyone. It's wrong of you to think of Muslims as a whole because people are different, you know? Try thinking a little bit more about your question, eh? Like rewording it to "Why do some Muslims impose their religion on others?"

I disagree with the question entirely. it's not people of Islam specifically who impose thier faith on others. maybe if you got out and about you'd see that every religeon hgas it's own way of getting up people's noses. christians are some of the worst. Where I live there are christians that stand on street corners with a megaphone telling everyone that they will go to hell if they do not accept jesus into thier lives and repent for thier sins. hari Krishna's dance and sing in the street to spread thier faith.
you need to open your eyes to the fact that everyone tries to get others to act how they do.
vegetarians? you ever notice the glare they give you as you eat a burger?

if u r a smoker, and u can't smoke for the day ........ how will u feel, if the person next to u, is blowing smoke all over ur face. just don't tease them during Ramadan (as an act of charity). Peace to All.

We do not impose our religion on people. I know someone that will on purpose eat next to me during classes, yes she is rude.

She is Catholic and does not fast during Lent. But I do not criticize her for this.

I am sorry that people do not know true etiquette. If they did they would know that it is rude to criticize others beliefs. It is rude to smoke drink and eat in front of others that for reasons of their belief system do not.

Instead people choose to be rude and disrespectful.

Instead of being rude people should try to understand where others are coming from.

we dont consider its offending ,did any muslim come to u and prevent u from eating or drinking around them
my christian friends some of them eat and drink in ramdan in front of us ,we didnt say anything ,some of them( christians ) dont eat or drink around us only cuz they are gentle and respectful ,they do that to tell us in a non spoken way ( we dont want to eat and drink ,while u cant ) but believe me its soooooooooo ok to drink, smoke ,eat around us ,sir
we are not going to die from starvation if u did that , we fast for allah so we are happy to do so ( fast )
i guess u are so worried cuz ramadan is next month, sir we all live in the same country and its ok to do whatever u want as long as it doesnt harm the others and not aganist the law
i dont think that eating is against the law!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

first of all, when was the last time a muslim missionary knocked on ur doorstep? we dont want people to join Islam who are not meant for it or deserve it. u cant pressurize someone when it comes to faith.

Allah knows best. no man can actually ever convert for another man/woman. and no one should ever try converting someone else. Allah has said spread the word not make them beleive it.

we can only tell people about islam not make them beleive it. making them beleive in islam is Allah's job. as Allah says "Verily! I shalt guide those whose hand is in mine"

and as far as smoking is concerned its bad for lungs, do that in front of a lady and u are dumped. btw, does ur religion allow u to smoke and drink and later puke in ur car?, wow u really follow a perverted religion urself. cool keep up with ur stinky life.

also stop spreading hate here on YA!

I agree with the answer of "Marissa" ..
Muslims don't impose their religion on others .
They introduce and show them the facts of their religion and then people could decide to accept or refuse !

Yes they DO impose religion on others, just as Muhamed did, they (all muslims) are to give the conquered non-muslims a choice before they are put to the sword, convert to muslim.. or die. Now that is just what Muhamed and his armies did, but you know how religions work.. some sects follow in that tradition and others overlook it.
