Galileo was placed under house arrest after he published a book which defended the idea of heliocentrism. He later diied under house arrest. In 1992, the pope admitted that the treatment of Galileo was unfair.

Are there any christians that would agree that the apology came too late? He turned out to be right in his beliefs long before 1992.

asked for the words under god to be taken out the pledge allegiance. I honestly don't mind b/c that is not everyone's belief and that is not the original words to it anyways...I did some research and those words were added b/c of christian organazations pushing the government to include them. The pledge of Allegiance is supposed to b for every1 to say...not just theists. What is your all's opinions?

Except when it is to make weapons?
They don't believe in global warming, prefering to say that it's not agreed upon when the only "scientists" who say it isn't occuring are paid by Exxon or some energy company.
They don't beiieve in evolution when 99% of the scientific community does and has proven that it occured. Note, that it doesn't mean that God doesn't exist.
They don't believe that the Earth is becoming more polluted, instead calling the scientists "eco-Nazi's"
They don't believe studies showing countries with greater access to birth controlhave less abortions than those with restricted or no access.
They don't believe gays areborn that way even though studies have come out saying it's genetic and hard-wired into the brain.

*Historical note: These are the same people who believed in witches, the flat-Earth, that Africans were inferior, phrenology, the Earth was the center of the universe, and so on...

America cut a / out of the A and cut m into rri and write that over America and see you are one nation under (the way they in italia would pronounce the name of) God. Also from Canada your nation is in a way under God. The Devil. really did go down to georgia... wasn't aware at the time that He needed a soul.

i show them angel=aI79el and I is God and the church cuts me out of the profits. a I79 as my ID shows. and the good news bible said in Ex.3 that an angel of the LORD is God. and of the times new ROMAN font LORD is name TODD born I7.9.

so definitly I WAS God. but nobody bowed.

new world translation of the holy scriptures says Satan ruled the world as god.

and all soul were said to belong to God or Satan. So what if God Himself put a 1000 year seal on Satan as an M which equals 1000 also M=IVI stitched together. So My right hand was God and the left was Satan. And Satan was a rebelious angel(aI79el) cause He tried to kill God?

ain't that a laff riot.

Laws are established to keep society from collapsing on itself correct? They are there to make sure the world can function and progress, that is their nature. So when you start making laws about things that have nothing to do with anything besides your personal beliefs, or anyone's personal beliefs, it starts to get arbitary. Sure it's not against our constitution or any laws, but can't you just see it's wrong? Don't you feel bad about making some one else less happy just so your views are secure and you feel warm and fuzzy inside? It's not a matter of legality for me, it's a matter of being a considerate compassionate human being. Why can't some people just have their own views and be happy, why do they have to make sure everyone else is subjected to their way of thinking (this goes for the overbearing atheists too)?

My point is, laws aren't there to make you happy, they're there to make sure you aren't raped, mugged, or murdered and we can progress as a society. Right?
