Im confused by some of the things that have been said on here. Do some people really think that Christians kill people? Because if that was the case then that person would NOT be a Christian because Christianity is all about love. I guess I just come from an area where people like Christians. Even when others don’t believe the same thing, the Christians where I live are known for being great people. What do people think of when they hear the word Christian? I dont get whats not to like, even if you dont believe the same thing. The Bible talks about loving your neighbor, respecting your parents, being a good example... Whats so bad about these things? I do know that there are some people who claim to be Christian yet think they are better than others and are greedy or judgmental.. thats not a Christ like spirit though. Is that what people think of when they think of Christians? I also know Christians are thought of to be stupid but I dont care what people think. Finally do people realize that Christians have been and are being killed for their beliefs? In fact there is a book called Jesus Freaks that tells about some. Jesus even said in the Bible that His followers would be persecuted for it. Anyway, what do you think?

In discussions with friends on instant messenger I acknowledge this question has the potential of crossing the line, but in the interest of pushing the envelope, I ask.

Specifically . . you know the person who raped you is an Atheist.

When I am discussing something with one of my Christian friends, they pull out a passage from the Bible to convince me that they're right. However, I don't believe the Bible, so why do they use something which I find incredible and invalid to back up their claim? I don't believe in it, so why use it as evidence if I don't even think it's true?

You know. A person that is so out of it or so far gone that they have no control over their actions. And I am talking severely mentally ill. Maybe schizophrenic, etc. Would God take that into consideration?

If God had a name
What would it be?
And would you call it to his face
If you were faced with him
In all his glory
What would you ask
If you had just one question?

Yeah yeah God is great
Yeah yeah God is good
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

What if God was one of us?
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make his way home

If God had a face
What would it look like?
And would you want to see
If seeing meant that you would have to believe
In things like heaven and in Jesus and the saints and all the prophets

And yeah yeah God is great
Yeah yeah God is good
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

What if God was one of us?
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make his way home

Trying to make his way home
Back up to heaven all alone
Nobody callin' on the phone
'cept for the Pope maybe in Rome

Yeah yeah God is great
Yeah yeah God is good
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

What if God was one of us?
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make his way home
Just trying to make his way home

Like a holy rollin' stone
Back up to heaven all alone
Just trying to make his way home

Nobody callin' on the phone
'cept for the Pope maybe in Rome...

For the people on here who KNOW I am not Christian and are going "Huh???", don't worry, there's a reason I'm asking this.

There's always a reason. ^_^

Just tell me if it is or isn't, go ahead, provide a few verses from your Bible if you want to!

What type of love does God have? Is it unbiased love? Caring love?

Who does God love?

Do tell, Christians. (Or people who just know this stuff from being ex-Christian or who are well-read in religions aside from their own) I'd love to hear your responses.

Does it only apply for alcoholic drinks or can you eat food where alcohol is an ingredient (cakes, for example), but doesn't make you drunk? How about make ups or body lotions?

People say there is "evil in the world" and discuss it as if it is a force. Some people believe there is a Devil who is evil personified. Is this kind of belief justifiable?
