Except when it is to make weapons?
They don't believe in global warming, prefering to say that it's not agreed upon when the only "scientists" who say it isn't occuring are paid by Exxon or some energy company.
They don't beiieve in evolution when 99% of the scientific community does and has proven that it occured. Note, that it doesn't mean that God doesn't exist.
They don't believe that the Earth is becoming more polluted, instead calling the scientists "eco-Nazi's"
They don't believe studies showing countries with greater access to birth controlhave less abortions than those with restricted or no access.
They don't believe gays areborn that way even though studies have come out saying it's genetic and hard-wired into the brain.

*Historical note: These are the same people who believed in witches, the flat-Earth, that Africans were inferior, phrenology, the Earth was the center of the universe, and so on...

American religious conservatives react against the scientific community because it threatens their belief systems... the same way religious conservatives in Europe reacted to the theories and discoveries of scientists like Copernicus and Galileo hundreds of years ago.

Looks like some one has been making out with Al Gore and calling it love.

Just because 99% of the scientific community agrees on something doesn't mean it's right. There are many scientists that don't believe in the "popular" theories right now, they are scared to come forth because of the fear of being ostracized.

Data can be manipulated, methods can be compromised to make any result possible. Scientists are not perfect, and neither is the stuff they have claimed to have "proven". You need to read "Icons of Evolution" by Jonathan Wells, he exposes the lies and the manipulations that have been taught as fact. And he's not just some nut-job. He has PhDs from Columbia and Harvard.

Doctors believed that being homosexual were not born that way but they had some type of mental sickness up till 1970's. Science thought that dinosaurs were extint before the 1700's but many times they have been proven wrong.
For the other parts of your statement there are only a very small % that think what you said about the scientist. Just like the teenagers.........only a very small % are the ones who do something wrong. Police, doctors, and so on are the same way but most people lump ALL Christians or conservatives in a group.

Your own ignorance betrays you. The fact that you list at the end scientific theories that have been disproven in time is proof enough to support the idea that all the ones that you describe as being "fact" are equally as capable of being proven invalid in the future.

You clearly have no understanding of what science even means. The reason why some folks don't consider global warming, gay genetics, and evolution to be fact is because they aren't. Hypotheses can never be proven true, they can only be supported by evidence. And none of the hypotheses, except for evolution, have had a substantial enough amount of support to call them theories, which are the highest forms of scientific hypothesis.

Bottom line is, you just outed yourself as being a total dumbass. Good job.

They are for Big Business interests: that has never been a secret. It cost money to recognize, global warming and polution control by big companys. Bush owns oil wells in Kuwait, the time magazine said, he doesn't work for the oil companys.
He is the oil companys, he owns the well. They have religion on their side because religion is big business.
Did you notice that most TV commercials are for drugs?
that is big business in this country. Maybe stem cell will reduce the need for so many drugs. they can't take that chance.
For religion to seem respectiable since they are for war and killing they had to find something to be against everyone could agree with that wouldn't cost votes. Gays rarely vote and who cares about same sex marriage? really?? I don't care what they do? should we police everyones bedroom?
So let's be against that. What about abortion? Sure everyone is against that and it makes us look respectable and usually happens to unwed mothers who don't vote.
So that is another safe bet. But it neve did ever stop abortion.
Just did cut backs on the cost of family planning and birth control that would remove the need for abortion.

Thats a bunch of bulls**t and you know it.
I don't know of any Christians who are against science. I do know plenty of scientists that are Christians.
You made up most of your statistics from your own head. I believe that global warming is a fact but it is more a natural occurance than the fault of man like you balless tree huggers want to believe. Gays are not born that way. the study you are refering to was pushed on us by a homosexual geneticist that wanted to make us believe that it was not their fault they wanted to take it in the butt. Behaviors are choices that you make, not identities you create.
You are a product of the mass media that pushed a sick agenda on you from the day you entered school and are too stupid to come to intelligent conclusions on your own because sitting in front of the TV all the time has robbed you of the ability to make rational conclusions about reality on your own.
You see and hear only that which supports your stupid ideology.
I didn't realize that such stupid idiots still existed. Why don't you learn to think for yourself. Grow up

Is there some point to this tirade? Or is this just one more in a long line of ranting and raving posts about what you believe is true, based on who knows what. I certainly don't believe those things and I am very Conservative. That is the ones I read. It got tiresome very quickly.
