Black people would become very educated as much they go to church

well, in a good black church, they should be learning and growing rather than whooping it up singing and dancing. unfortunately, many black churches do not teach.

but the people choose where to spend their time. and many would rather go to a church where they are made to feel good rather than learn to think. many want to be stroked and coddled and made to feel justified, rather than hear the truth.

community colleges already exist, by the way. it's not like the opportunity isn't there. it doesn't have to be a choice between the two.

Wow! What an idea. Why not convert all White churches too? Or wait -- maybe we should convert all community colleges to churches. Or ??

You are pandering to a stereotype here, that Black people do nothing but go to church. There are some Blacks who do, just as there are some Whites who do. And some Blacks who don't, just as there are some Whites who don't.
Trying to convert a church into a college is a dumb idea. It would require a great deal of costly renovation to convert the average church into a building suitable for a college. And would you have a preacher in every room? Or a teacher?
Let's keep education and religion separate. I think it says somewhere in the Constitution that everyone has freedom of choice when it comes to religion. And education should be provided for all citizens. A more worthwhile suggestion would be to figure out a way to reduce the cost of going to college or university so EVERY young person could avail themselves of higher education.

The question is too simplistic. On it's face it would both help and hurt but ultimately there would be a zero sum gain.

Fully actualized human beings require the proper balance of physical, mental and spiritual. To be lacking in any one aspect is to have less than the best person that could be. Just like everyone else, Blacks need their spiritual needs met and yes more availability to higher education would be quite advantagiuos but is not the only answer to the plight of the Black community in the US. If churches offered higher education as an extension of a local affiliated university or community college, it could be a doorway for youth to more easily transition into higher education and eventually transfer to said institution full time and for the those who do not wish to persue a full degree program to take personal enrichment classes.

I see the point of your question and I also see the shortsightedness of it. I think your heart may be in the right place but what is needed is to add more of the right things to fix problems, not take away one good thing and replace it with one that seems better.
