Ok, how are we supposed to help you with a personal story. Hey, here's an idea - do your own homework. I don't think cheating is very Christian.

If you're studying Theology, I can only guess that you're headed for some type of ministry or Christian leadership as a career. In that case I'd much rather 'teach you to fish.' Besides, just 'giving you the fish' really would be cheating, as the first answerer so kindly pointed out. I hope my answer will help, but I'm not going to do it for you.

For the call to prayer, think for a moment of a couple of different things that have gotten your attention and helped you focus on prayer. One of those would work for a call to prayer.

If you need a scripture, one favorite of mine that was shared while I was in Bible college is Ps 94:19. It talks about God's answer for our anxieties. Yessss, that one's relevant to anyone who's studying.

For your 'personal connection,' I'd recommend looking in any books by Alice Gray. She has a whole lot of good, meaty stories with Christian application. It's a lot more to chew on than some of the devotionals that seem to be saying, "Oh, look at the beautiful trees. The God Who made them made you, too. Isn't He wonderful?" While all of that is true, it just doesn't give me much to really work with. I guess for me it's too "fluffy" or "foofy." Oswald Chambers also has some good "solid meat" meditations on different scriptures. "My Utmost for His Highest" is his best-known work, I think. If you choose one of his, be sure you read it aloud 2-3 times before reading it in front of the Body. His syntax is sometimes a little awkward if you're not used to that style. With just a little practice, however, you'll do fine.

Anyway, yes, I would suggest you pull a story or a meditation that's already written -- at least for this time. Once you're more comfortable with making this type of presentation, I'd say pull something from your own experiences. For now, though, learn to do the presentation well, so God is adored and glorified through what you do. After all, if you stumble along and hem and haw, you'll only draw attention to yourself when it should be on Him.

This assignment should be good for you to do, and since you are asking for help you really need to do it. Perhaps you do not have apersonal relationship with God yet, you need to pray about that first.
God is your friend talk to Him like that. He is the one you should be asking for help.
Calling to prayer a bunch of students, i"ll tell you what I do . In a military fashion kinda laud and authoritative sounding I Say Listen up, God wants to talk to you, and then quieter i say and Lord I'm here if you want to use me.

Here's jus an idea. The term Abomination of desolation, could it not be a person but an economic system like capitalism, watch out though the bureau of fire arm and tobacco might approach your place of prayer and burn it down, and you with it.

shaboopi is incorrect. All Jews are "Messianic" in the experience that we seem ahead to a messiah in some unspecified time sooner or later coming to earth. The messiah isn't divine, notwithstanding, he will be a mortal guy. the idea that a guy can be a god or G-d can be a guy is between the perfect heresies in our faith--for that reason, Jews won't be able to settle for JC because the messiah because to finish that is to settle for him as a god, it really is blasphemy. To worship more effective than one G-d is going adversarial to the very spine of Judaism (it really is that there is really one G-d.) and to declare to be a "Xian Jew" or a "Messianic Jew" (in the experience that those human beings mean) is like retaining someone is a Xian Hindu. Joachim is likewise incorrect. Lubavitchers believed that the Rebbe ought to were the messiah until eventually he died--now that is largely a small sect of them who nevertheless trust that he's not useless (for if someone dies, they actually won't be able to be the messiah) and nevertheless are waiting for him to proclaim himself because the messiah. it isn't all of them via any skill. Peace i'd be at liberty to intricate on some thing or answer any questions you've gotten, basically e-mail me in case you experience the choose. Peace :-)

Here is what I will do to help you. I pray that you will take time to pray, asking God for His guidance. If you are taking a course in theology, I would hope that means you already have a relationship with God. If you are really stumped, perhaps you should have a chat with your theology professor instead of asking us to help you with your assignment. God bless!

Sorry, that's too much thought for me. I've lead prayer but I've never had to be so specific about what I was doing. Good luck!

I wouldn't rob you of the rich insight and fulfillment of doing this yourself. These are excellent things to think about and do. Please don't allow anyone to take from you the lessons and grace God has for you in thinking these things through for yourself.

Tell your class that sheep can't live on dog vomit.
What you are being taught is dog vomit.
Get out while you can.
