If God knows the beginning and the end of everything as christians claim he does. Then God must know that the majority of people he created will end up in hell. If God knows this then why does he make those people who are doomed to go to hell in the first place? Isn't this evil? If God is evil, why do people call him God?

The problem, you see, is that after establishing that we get to heaven by grace alone, not good works, we're left with no incentive to do good works. Why bother when a sincere death-bed prayer (Dear God, I am sorry I've sinned. I am a poor sinner. Please, in the name of your son Jesus Christ, cleanse me of my sins. Amen) gets us into heaven.

After all, we're all supposed to recognize that we're sinners all the time, forgiven only when we ask for it. Good christian work doesn't gain entry into heaven, only repentance for being a sinner. So why worry about what we do when the only thing that counts for our eternal salvation is sincere repentance for being a sinner?

I believe in God but organized religion has given me a bad opinion of a lot of people. A lot of double standards. If I missed church because I had to work (in a restaurant) people looked down on me, yet those same people eat out after church every Sunday. When I was single, the singles groups were "dating" groups, full of drama, gossip, the women talked about other women behind their back, the men compared notes on the women. I found myself "out" of the group because I wasn't there to find a "good" Christian man. Even my mom, who is in church every time the doors are open, is gossipy, critical, sometimes a snob.
My general experience is they put on the clothes, go to church to show everyone what a good Christian they are, do a few good deeds for the church(tithe, do some volunteering, pray, etc.) Once off the grounds, out in the world its back to being rude, self-serving, critical people.

We're talking about God the unfathomable, aren't we?

If, as many of you have argued, that Hitler could enter Heaven on grace alone (assuming his sincere repentance and lack of suicide), who is to say whether Hitler acted on behalf of God or not? After all, God (hypothetically) would let Hitler into heaven if he sincerely repented etc, right?

And to those who argue in favour of good works, I hear you. But you have to accept that there is a branch of Christianity that believes we are saved by grace alone, not by the good works we do. Consider Gandhi, good works but no heaven for being an unbeliever (assuming he remained Hindu at his death) (Rev 21:8).

I mean isn't the music supposed to be upbeat and comforting and joyful. I don't get it. Has anyone else ever felt like this before? I have had a christian upbringing so it's not like i'm foreign to that kind of music

The idea that this is a choice is confounding to me. For pitys sake, if I could have chosen to be Gay, I can assure you I would have. I would have a greater insight into my partners heart. I am just not built that way though.

If this is true, then women have no one to blame about men being "dawgs" but thier own species. I mean if Eve woulda left the forbidden fruit be then there would be no sin, hence no "dawgs".

I'm not gay, but I think it's unfair that certain Jesus-Freaks go around discrimanating against gays and lesbians. And they say there are going to hell, because they're homosexual. It's not like they woke up one day, and said "Okay today I'm gonna be gay."
It's not their fault they are gay. How come in the bible it says they are going to hell? If it's a sin to be gay, then why did God make gay people? I agree with some parts of the bible. But I do not agree with christian homophobes at all. Gays should not go to hell. Only bad people.

I 100% believe that when a person dies, so does his conscience. No afterlife, no reincarnation, no eternal soul. Yet about 5 billion people living today believe that there is, on the basis of some ancient scriptures, often combined with the way they were raised. Please don't quote me those scriptures; rational answers only!!

why don't people in this world love god, is it because his invisible. Why do people then call out for help to god when they are in serious trouble when they say they don't believe in god. WHY?
