God is not invisible he is all around, the problem is people think of the bible, which is written by man, and religion which is also man made, and when things go wrong they blame God, the thing is God gave us free will to do as we please, and when we do and it goes wrong we expect him to fix it why should he? Think of all the things in world today, all the killings from war in Gods name, all the murders, all the sickness, and when God does not stop this or cure the sick he can't exist, why should he, stop what we have caused.
I love God because he is there when i need him, i ask for help, and guidance and most times i get it.
God is everywhere the in the air, water, the plants,
Love & Peace

I think because God is so powerful that it is overwhelming. Many people just are not ready do deal with an all powerful creator, however loving his sway might be.
It doesn't matter what people say, it matters what they do.
So, maybe, when the chips are down, they can open up to something bigger than their problem and ask for help when other times the whole idea is too scary. Oh, well. There are so many people shouting God's graces from the rooftops, why not let them have their little secret.

Firstly I do believe in God. I think you have a very good question - I have often thought how crazy it is that people say that they do not believe in God but then when they are scared for their life they start praying to Him! Yes He is real and yes He will hear your prayers ... there's nothing that anyone can do to be excluded from His love. I think that possibly people do know that there is a God deep down in their hearts and souls, but they do not want the reality of right and wrong and someone to answer to for all the opportunities, actions, words, thoughts etc during our lives. However in a moment of great distress they still have the urge to pray to God to look after them. I wonder what they think of it afterwards when they have miraculously survived through the situation but do not commit their lives to God .... would they still say that He doesn't exist or would they just chose to live in the knowledge of His existance but live ignoring it. People are complex beings!

Most people believe in a guiding force in this universe, they just don't like the religious options open for communication with this force. Throughout their life most people are searching for some kind of spiritual connection. Unfortunately, most of the religions out there have a very narrow minded and conflicted viewpoint of who or what God is. People don't give up on their belief, but in desperation will call out in the only way that they know how when they reach that particular point. Myself, I believe in a God, but I practice Zen Buddhism as it's the closest thing to my own particular viewpoints on spiritualism. No matter what a person believes or who they worship, they should always be viewed with compassion, as they are after all only human like us. We are all searching for enlightenment.

They say, there are no atheist, in a fox hole on the battleground. They can not Love what they don't understand. God still loves them whether they believe in Him or not. God provided a Redemption solution for the world, they chose not to have a personal relationship with Him. I guess that is what they say when they bury the atheist,Here lies-------- all dressed-up and no where to go.Sad sad sad! There can be a thousand reasons why they don't believe. Keep the Faith and Trust Jesus!

I know, I know
How can you love something or someone that never existed? I feel you are in love with your imaginary friend and many people are holding on to the ways of or beliefs of their child hood. A god or a need of a god I should say is due to weak minds and brain washing when you was a child. Think it over how silly it sounds.
People saying "Oh God" when in trouble is the same as saying "OOOhhhh GOOOOOD!" when haveing sex. It is just a by word used to express feelings. Nothing more. It is like the word SH!T, You can say "Oh sh!t" when you are in trouble and as well use the word when having sex "OOOhhh SH!!!!!!!!!!!TTTT!" It is just an expression. Nothing more. One means dangit I'm in trouble again and the other just expresses how good something is.
I believe that clears it up. Both words are just by words.
And why would you even think I would pray to a god when in need? You are not me and can't know what I would do. I assure you it would not be praying to a god. I mind would be too busy trying to find a way out of the problem to worry about a fairytale god. I really truly believe that if I was to wait on god to help me out of my problems I would have died and dried up years ago.

Man's instinct is for some higher power. Despite his attempts to think of himself as master of his fate, he has to acknowledge that there are forces over which he has no control. Belief in God gives access to One that DOES have control over these forces. So, when a man feels adrift, out of control, with all efforts and resources spent, the only One he can turn to is the Almighty, Infinite, All Loving God.

I don't love god, because I prefer to love what I can see and perceive. I'm not one of those who actually grow an affection for TV fictional characters. I can tell the difference between real people, and fiction.
And I can tell you that in my 35 years of life so far, I have NEVER EVER asked for help to God. And I HAVE been in difficult situations. But since the concept of god is not in my mind or heart, it doesn't even cross my mind asking for his help. As I said, I'd rather go for a real person's help.

Some people love God very much and don't feel the need to "see" Him because the evidence of His existance is all around us and within us. I am one of those who do love Him and would give my life if need be for love of my God. I am a Catholic.

Because so many opinions of god are drilled into society and most become confused by the theories and stories about a man they never met. They then ask for gods help as again the theories told are 'god is always watching you' and 'god will help if you ask him' and those who ask for his help as they feel he already knows what has happened to them
