I 100% believe that when a person dies, so does his conscience. No afterlife, no reincarnation, no eternal soul. Yet about 5 billion people living today believe that there is, on the basis of some ancient scriptures, often combined with the way they were raised. Please don't quote me those scriptures; rational answers only!!

I don't think there is a soul, simply because there are several documented cases of persons suffering severe head injuries causing a change in his/her personality. Now, if one's personhood were in the soul, and not the brain, then this wouldn't happen. Biological damage would not make an even-tempered person hot-headed, or vise versa.

I'm with you. Consciousness is in the brain, and when the brain stops working, that's it.

When you let the Bible interpret itself you find very quickly that a soul is just another word for person or being. A lot like when a boat sinks and people say this many souls were lost. They are not talking about ghosts that were lost, they are talking about people.

The Bible is clear that there is NO consciences after death, That is why the Bible says "The dead no not anything." pretty clear. We sleep in the grave after we die and don't come to life again until Jesus comes back in the clouds for his people. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, will clear that up.

The idea of a separate soul thing is part of Greek Mythology, taught by Plato, not the Bible! Hope this helps:)

If you've taken biology and chemisty, then you know that you could, theoretically build a human body. It's just made up of chemicals and minerals and such… So, if we ever got that complex, where we could just manufacture a human body from the cellular level up, would that body then just magically be alive? What gives us that initial spark?

It's hard to argue with 5 billion people too. You have to wonder what they're encountering that you're not. With 5 billion, it would be hard to argue that they were all or even majorly uneducated people.

I wasn't raised in a church going home. But my son will be.

anything or anyone alive alive and breathing has a soul. Without a soul you would just be a lifeless carcus waiting for the vultures to devour you. And if you read the book of Genesis the "breath of life" is when God was giving us souls so we could actually move and act of our own accord.

I am not that type that like argument. People like you are many and let me tell you that a time will come when you will beg for the scriptures but you will not have one. God's patience will not be eternal. You are not alone. Neglet God and His word. My prayer is that He should not you on that day.

Why does everything have to have EVIDENCE and be rational?

Find someone who has been brought back from dead. People have actually died and come back to tell amazing stories. There are also people who have been given visions of hell and purgatory.

i have spoken to 'dead people' and so i believe that the soul exists as an energy force. i can only prove to you, by you experiencing it first hand. at the end of the day the choice is yours but try it and then judge.

Proof, proof, everywhere a proof.
What shall we do if there is no proof.
I can't see it, I can't touch it, I can't weigh it.
I can't smell it.
Oh what shall I do.
I am sensual one. I must perceive it with my senses.
No senses, it doesn't exist.
This is it, nothing else.
Why am I following all these rules?
I should be out raping and pilliging and murdering and anything else I can get into with my senses.

There is evidence that when we die, our body is suddenly 28 grams lighter. Many believe that is the soul leaving the body.

as a medium i can only tell you from my own evidence that yes life goes on after death
i have spoken to spirit and passed messages on to people that i would have no way of knowing
i have also had readings myself where my own family members have came through and validated who they are and that life goes on after death
i know that me saying this doesn't help because i truly believe we all need our own proof in a way that makes sense to us
this is my proof xx
