With all the rumors going around about the Religion and Tom Cruise, etc. it is hard to distinguish facts from fiction. What are some basic beliefs of Scientology? How was it formed? Is this a new religion or are we just now hearing a lot about it because of celebrities practicing it?

1Jo 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
1Jo 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
1Jo 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
2Jo 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

This is all the Bible says of antichrist. This is an Atheist.

Religion is basically a myth, with some truth thrown in for good measure. The myth provides such enormous psychological comfort to the believers that, with the partial truth thrown in, the entire religious structure appears to be as real as the shining sun at noonday. It is all based on the ENORMOUS PSYCHOLOGICAL COMFORT that the myths generate.

and Granny’s answer was actually very nice but it made me wonder if a Godly life is to be lived outside of prince’s palace among the poor and down-trodden (which I think is great) then why does Joel Osteen and the like drive fancy cars and live in big houses?

The computer operates in a logical manner. Logic says that many of man's inventions--like the clock, or the computer-were just copied from nature. Logic also says that these copies have designers/ makers.

IF THESE COPIES HAVE DESIGNERS/ MAKERS, WHAT ABOUT THE ORIGINALS?

But, no. For strange reason--probably due to brain mal-functions--atheists would deny that there is a designer/maker for these orginals.

I really can't undertand. Can you???

I would say that I have 2 causes that really pull at my heart strings. One as many can guess is homelessness because I have been there. The other is prolife, this is because my mother is struggling with this 30 years after the fact. I do not judge women who feel they must choose this I just fear for them and their lives and children. What do you feel pulls at your heart the most?

A brilliant scientist dies and at the gates of heaven he asks to speak to God. God appears and the scientist says, "You are no longer needed on Earth because science has learned how to do everything that you do. We can even create a man from mud."

"Really?" says God. "That I'd like to see!'

So God took the scientist down to Earth and asked the scientist to procede.

The scientist bent over to gather up some mud, but God protested. "Hold on there, bucko, get your own mud!'

I've heard rumours that there are places in America that still teach this idea of 7 days and a god taking dust out of the ground to build a human, wasn't sure if that was true or not, or just the state of education before 1920

It seems that both the overly religious and the anti-religion crowds think they will come up with the ultimate question (or point) that will either covert us all or turn us all into doubters. Will they ever?

Don't you know that you are proof of the flying spaghetti monster's creation? (that and the DNA shared with the great apes but that would be admitting its an alterate atheist theory promoting evolution and I'd have to phrase the question as Question for non-evolutionists don't you know you are proof of evolution)
