I really feel for those in the church who think they are safe from hell. The last polls I have seen on this issue are about 12 or so years old. They (who-I cant remember) polled conservative, moderate and liberal churches. The main focus was to attempt to determine what percentage of "professing" Christan's the poll would predict would go to heaven. I know polls do not decide this-but your relationship with God does. But anyway-the most conservative numbers were that only 3-5% of the church was heaven bound. The liberal numbers said about 30% would go to heaven. And the moderates were in the middle about15%. This was just a poll-but the numbers should startle everyone who is a Christian. Even if the liberals were close, then that means nearly 70% of people who think they are Christians will go to hell. That is scary. Think about it. This is a problem. I think Churches should attempt to band together somehow and address this problem. --To me this is a big cause-
The other main cause I worry about is Islam. Millions of Muslims will burn in hell for following Mohammad. I know everyone wants to think that their religion it the right one-but the fact is that they can not be opposing and all be correct at the same time. Islam is obviously wrong if one only studies it out. Most Muslims do not have the luxury to study anything, so they remain trapped. There are good ex-Muslims who write books pointing out the error of Islam, but most Muslims will never see them. I do not know if this can be fixed-it is a problem.

i feel my call is with those who are grieving .. i dont feel that people grieving are given the answers they may need in counselling environment etc
its all very clinical when what they really need is hope that their loved ones are safe and well .. so in my own little way ( you know what i mean ) i would love to have a kind of alternative therapy to help care for these people
i also have recently applied to work voluntary at a new centre opening in my area for people with dementia .. this has been quite a profound calling for me ( too long to go into ) but i feel i have had signs to go into this area of work .... so I'm following and I'm sure it will be wonderful
i think those causes that you mentioned Debra are wonderful causes and wish you well with whatever you do in that xx

For me it is A.R.C & the Special Olympics. Downes Syndrome is genetic on the paternal side of my family; each generation has had one or two individuals with it and I have traced it back to the late 1700's so because of this I became involved with the Special Olympics when I was young and some of my own cousins were competing athletes.

I try to come on yahoo answers and hope I can truly help people find the Lord. It is a great feeling and I thank the Lord for giving me the wisdom when someone contacts me and says thank you. I also want to help our local food bank and missionaries supported by our church. I have 9 dogs of which I have rescued 6. And of course one of my pet peeves is abortion, Not toward the women but toward the people that decieve them into thinking that it is nothing and that it will not botherr them later on in life. They do not really care as long they get paid for murder and can have laws to prottect them. My sympathy to all who have been decieved but you can find relief in the Lord He forgives alll all you have to do is ask.

My causes -
Animal welfare through rescue and education, promotion of spay/neuter, and discouraging people from buying from backyard breeders, "hobby" breeders, puppy mills, and pet stores.
Equal availability for the Wiccan pentacle on military markers and plaques (and in a broader sense, tolerance of Wicca in general).
