Most Christians don't read the Bible, they just grow up belonging to buildings that proport to teach Christian beliefs. One day a week, usually the pagan day of worship - first day of the week, for a few hours they attend a fashion show and meet with friends, listen to a 20 min. extract and then go home.

>>>2Jo 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. <<<

Read the verse carefully. Read it without preconceived notions, and not through the blinders of anti-religious sentiment.

The verse does not define "anti-Christ" as "someone who does not believe in God."

It defines "anti-Christ" as "someone who does not believe in God, and who is a deceiver."

In other words, an "anti-Christ" is someone who not only rejects Christ, but also deceives others by encouraging them to reject Him as well.

Unfortunately, the only one who is defining "anti-Christ" to be "someone who doesn't accept Christ" is you.

The Bible doesn't do this. Neither does the Church.

In fact, the Church sees every non-believer as a unique and special human being -- one who is a potential convert to the True Faith.

It's bad enough that you're failing to see this potential in each and every non-believer.

But it's even worse when you foist that belief on the Bible and on Christianity -- when neither one feels that way at all.

There are many antichrists preceding The Antichrist. Let's re-read 1 John 1:18ff... "...ye have heard that Antichrist [singular] shall come, and even now there are many antichrists [plural] by which we know it is the last time...who is a liar, but he that denith that Jesus is the Christ? He is Antichrist [singular], that denieth the Father and the Son."

It's been my experience on yahoo answers that most people don't know the Bible.

As an example, I will often ask Does the Bible really say " (quote) "

and then I will in the details cut and paste from bible gateway and give the reference,

so for example watch the following:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=20060807083924AACj1PL&pa=FYd1D2bwHTHwIb5vEu86Rvx5G28xyGqzg9CkTea05hLVgQ--&msgr_status=

See in the above question and come back to it in 20 minutes, where most people are going to say im an anti-christian bigot, some will say no god said and quote genesis 2, or quote eve,

but you watch, ignorant people will simply say i have an agenda or some such

Edit: one girl told me that the new king james version wasn't the right version for me to read!@

See what I mean?

One guy said what is the question here, saddens you doesn't it.

Edit(2): Another example,
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=20060807085021AA7UYUu&pa=FYd1D2bwHTHwIb5vEu8zQz2mRH3Rw9qXv6qL4I1hyLLJlg--&msgr_status=
All I did was ask does Jesus say the following,
then I copied and pasted right out of biblegateway.

Watch, people are going to say I'm taking it out of context and think I'm talking about school prayer, but specifically with this question all I did was ask does Jesus say the following in the Bible, then I pasted the quote and the reference.

People on yahoo answers aren't reading they will mostly attack me as an anti-religious bigot and that the constitution says blah blah blah and they should be allowed to pray in school.

All I did was ask what did jesus say.

Edit (3): Maybe the issue isn't so much knowing the Bible as it is people make assumptions about the question and you see where the one answer to my second question she says "I know where you are going with this" when all I was doing was asking.

So, critical thinking skills aren't there.

How do you know how much we as Christians know about the bible. Read your own scripture you have quoted, especially the last verse. That tells me all I need to know. Are you one of the deceivers? Antichrist? Besides, you give me a pain. What is your definition of an atheist. If you read other parts of the Bible, like revelations, you will see that it says in the latter days, there shall be false prophets (ring a bell?), Some who claim to be Christ, the bible makes reference to this many times. HAPPY READING AND GOD BLESS

on the same time as john grew to become into declaring numerous antichrists and that they have continually been lurking around and continually would be, there are 4 gospels related to the rather antichrist 1st commandment says blabla in basic terms me and no-one else is your god then later jebus comes and says he's the alpha and the omega, he's the father and the father is him, screws over the jews, says you in basic terms get to the different guy by way of him, variations some rules even inspite of the incontrovertible fact that he says he's not there to abolish them etc "Daniel 7:25 25 he will talk against the main extreme and oppress his holy human beings and attempt to alter the set cases and the guidelines. The holy human beings would be further into his palms for a time, cases and 0.5 a time." oh btw, Jesus could desire to have been referred to as Immanuel yet for some reason no person cares approximately that (techniques washing and failure to word good judgment in basic terms area of the reason) "Isaiah 7:14 for this reason the Lord himself provides you with an illustration: The virgin will conceive and supply delivery to a son, and could call him Immanuel." i assume that Immanuel guy does not curse a fig tree because of fact he's in basic terms too stupid to attain it is not season for figs lol additionally the messiah grew to become into meant to be certainly one of David's descendants, regardless of if if Mary grew to become into impregnated by ability of the holy spirit or gremlins or regardless of, Joseph (who's reported to descend promptly from the two certainly one of David's sons lol) isn't the father and Jebus is faux, I definitely have plenty extra yet i will in basic terms say.. Christ = Antichrist?

End times are not my area of concentration. I figure Jesus will handle the details. If He has something to teach me for my life toady at is in the prophecy He will point it out. Until that I want to humble myself to His will and be used by Him as best I can. I trust Him for the future.

Yep...You are right again, they are all idiots. Funny are the people who will twist on one Verse, but not the others. Here, lets make this piece fit, but will leave the others the way they are.
