Since there is no evidence, and those who do believe in him are just listening to other people who don't have a clue.

Besides being an excellent song...heres something to chew on.

One of the most important concepts in Christianity is original sin or the belief that all mankind has inherited a sinful nature brought about by the acts of Adam and Eve.

Rom. 5:12 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:"

Rom. 5:19 "For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners,..."

1Cor. 15:22 "For as in Adam all die, ..."

Yet, no amount of theological reasoning can make an inherently unjust idea seem right. Punishing billions of people for the acts of one is not only inherently unfair and unwarranted but also in opposition to other Biblical verses such as:

Deut. 24:16 "The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers (2Chron.25:54) :every man shall be put to death for his own sin." (2 Kings 14:6)

In this question the asker asks if Rev 21:8 convinces the reader to turn their life over to Jesus.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=20060807102231AAWnuYr&r=w&pa=FZptHWf.BGRX3OFMhDBcVwUHxOIRY1FhClnmkLoyqsJVXyvycA--#NbUvWDC.VzMF_au32A8W

Since I read in Rev 7:1 and Rev 20:8 that the Earth has four corners, and logically I know that the Earth is round shaped like a globe and doesn't have four corners, I know to take Rev 7:1 and 20:8 as metaphor, symbol. We are also taking 21:8 therefore to also be metaphor, or symbol. I don't think it makes sense to turn over a life based on an interpretation of an allegory, a symbol.

I asked the asker and I ask the yahoo answers community, because I want to believe in God, for empirical evidence in your God, to create a database of answers for today and future Generations, Do you believers in God have any empirical evidence to believe in God? Or do you believe and have faith based on an interpretation of a symbol, a metaphor, in a book

If god gave humans their brains along with freedom of thought, do you really believe you will be punished when you die if you don't see evidence of god and therefore don't believe in him.

I am a young healthy female. However, I have this irrational fear of death, which is silly, because I know we all are born and we all will die someday. Anyway, it has not been a total loss, as it has made me a more spiritual person. What is your beleif of what is on the other side? When I pray, or meditate, all I see is shapes within shapes, like flowers or mandalas or something. I beleive in a Great Spirit, or God. Yet, I am not sure what to expect upon expiration, and it scares me. Do we just fly through space or something? (joke)

Heaven, Hell, Limbo, or reincarnation. There are many different theories as to what happens to us when we die. Answer intelligently and EXPLAIN. I'll give you ten points if your answer is creative enough. ^.^

The word "atheist" itself is still involved in "theism".

The word "secular" is not, isn't it? What do you prefer?

That is part of the protestant theology. If protestantism gives all the authority to he bible. Why doesn't the bible specifically say anywhere that we should accept Jesus al Lord and Savior ,but rather it says that we obtein salvation by faith in him?. And also what about the sinners prayer. It also says nowhere that we obtain salvation through it.

I'm not just referring to knowledge that there is a God. I'm also referring to a means of understanding and realizing God's real identity.

In the interest of creating a database of questions and answers I asked atheists and agnostics what their purpose is in life with this question here:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AuF9apqpOGoC6zZSSfz_PQvsy6IX?qid=20060807094526AAidt8N

Despite the one or two theists who wanted to tell me I need God, there are over 25 really solid good answers from people.

Some say they have no purpose but life to try and make others they love happy; many said their purpose was to help humanity and its knowledge base.

So my question for theists is, now that you have read the atheists and agnostics answers, do you have a better understanding for the atheists and agnostics purpose in life?

My intent here is not to start a God war, and read a bunch of answers telling me I and other atheists and agnostics need to have God or we have a purpose in life, because I just illustrated that many atheists and agnostics do.
