Christianity and Islam like to kill their fellow human beings.

Religion is responsible for the majority of wars, conflict and murder of innocent life since humanity began. I know there are many nice people who believe in God, but the real evil amongst us, are the vast majority of religious followers and believers who have clearly shown over time to be the major instigators of wars, violence, abuse, greed and practically everything evil on our planet.

Even according to Genesis in the Bible, God is clearly the greatest mass murderer in history. The Bible is full of terrible atrocities and evil, far more than nice things, but of course believers will just ignore or twist the atrocities into whatever soothes their confused minds.

Everyone knows of murders and violence associated with Christianity and Islam, I suppose all of the other major religions have a track record of killing their fellow human beings as well.

Christianity, like all religions is really just evil in disguise.

There is considerable evidence to classify religion as evil, and talk of religion (Gods etc) should be banned. Because the records prove over and over again throughout humanity that religion is clearly responsible for crimes against humanity, taking part in any religious activity should also be outlawed and made a criminal offence.

The world would be a much happier and peaceful place if religion ceased to exist. Although there are some decent religious believers and preachers, they are unwittingly spreading evil around our world, and that they should simply keep their beliefs and thoughts to themselves in the best interests of humanity, or suffer the consequences for their actions.

People should consider that the world would be like Heaven if religion ceased to exist, but all the believers and preachers have turned the planet into Hell.

I've always thought it was about equal.

I'm not going to list all the bad things is causes, OK I'll list a few that I love to list just for the sake of it like Crusades/Inquisition/and depriving a mans sexual urges to point that he turns into a homosexual pedophile. But when I see some people question where a non religious persons morals come from, I have to think the only thing keeping these morons from raping and murdering is fear of an afterlife punishment.

They also helped to build a lot of the early hospitals and some of the schools. These are respectable ideas, so along with controls those who can not control themselves, though they use it as an excuse to do harm often too, it is a wash.

As society advances it will become less and less necessary. Then again we would have advanced another 1500 years if the church hadn't insisted on taking the greatest minds of their times and burning them at the stake.

I think it depends who's hands it is in and how crazy all the nutters would go without it.

Christianity is both a religion and a personal faith. It espouses service to others; however, it is not, at its heart, a social-welfare program. Its main purpose is salvation of the individual by reconciliation with God.

As a religion, it inevitably does some harm, as do all broad human endeavors. Whether that harm outweighs the good done by Christianity is impossible to determine. Having been involved with Christian charity work in many places and on many levels, I'm completely confident that it does far, far more good than harm.

As a personal faith, it does ONLY good, a good that is absolute and is unobtainable elsewhere. There is one way, and one way ONLY, for us as sinners to be reconciled with the holy and righteous Father of All, and that is by accepting and believing in the atoning sacrifice and resurrection of His Son, Jesus.

Hope this helps--Blessings to you!

Hm well it certainly does a fair amount of each! It's tough to weight which is does more of. I don't think that it's the religion of Christianity itself that is causing the harm -- it is mans' corrupt interpretation of what they *THINK* Christianity is suppose to be that creates all the harm -- the Burning Times, the Inquisition, Bush being re-elected (LOL, jk) etc. However, it is a valid spiritual path that has a lot of great things to teach us when approached in it's purest form. So, tough to make a good call here!

If Christianity is what Christ preached in his time present day churches are no where near it. More than compassion and love which was the heart of Christ's teachings, what is perceived of churches is some kind of aggressive ideologies and a zeal to expansionism suggesting downright promotion of religion rather than attraction. In some cases it appears to be behavior tantamounting to arrogance. Over millennia this has lead to wars causing great human suffering. This is applicable almost entirely to other religions too. In conclusion informed people of 21st century are compelled to conclude that all religions including Christianity have not served their original purpose and to achieve grandiosity and pomp, have strayed badly leading to conflicts and much human suffering.

Of course not.

Christian open homeless shelters, feed the hungry, give money to the poor, are a major part in hospital recovery programs, volunteer in communities ET CETERA, ET CETERA....

So what harm do we do? Well, I can't think of any... Some nut job that blows himself up MIGHT call himself a Christian, but no Churches do and neither do I. Nutty folks might claim us, but we do not claim them.

Christianity does not teach that killing is OK. It does not teach that slavery is OK. It encourages free thought, but asks you to be careful not to BLASPHEME God or to sin, although it accepts that you will..

PEOPLE ARE NOT PERFECT. Christianity encourages us all to be better today than yesterday and to help people and respect them and love God.

So, I wonder what nutty books you have been reading to ask such a strange question?

Let's consider the Inquisition, Burning Times, and other persecution. Christians have a long history of not only killing and tormenting other religious adherents, but other Christians (of different sects) as well.

There has been some good, but it is always accompanied by annoyance. ("I'm a Christian and look at the good I am doing! You should be Christian too!")

What harm did Christ ever do to anyone? Non !! So if anyone ever harmed you or anyone you know in the name of christianity then he/she is not a Christian. A christian is a beliver in the teachings of Christ. Christ said to follow his way. There is no other way to God but through Christ.

He is peace, love and no HARM!
