The single most important piece of information a human being can acquire is knowledge of the Holy Name of the Lord.
In the Vedas this material existence is described as both a chain of repeated birth and death and a blazing forest fire. The living entity is conditioned by maya, the illusory potency of the Lord, into identifying with a set of temporary, miserable, ephemeral material circumstances, not the least of which is a body which is no more than a biological apparatus.
Liberation from this situation entails the conditioned soul reviving a relationship with God which is actually dormant within all souls. In Sanskrit, this is called sanatana dharma. This means that one’s relationship with the Supreme Lord is effectively the true nature of the pure soul and not something imposed. Yoga means that the soul has reawakened to it’s eternal relationship with God.
The most practical and effective means to revive ones relationship with the Lord is the chanting of the Hare Krishna Maha mantra, as described in authorized Vedic scripture.
Harer nama harer name harer namaiva kevalam
Kalau nasty eva nasty eve nasty eve gatir anyatha
(Brhan_Naradiya Purana)
“In this age of Kali there is no other religion than glorifying the Lord by utterance of His holy name, and that is the injunction of all the revealed scriptures. There is no other way, there is no other way, there is no other way.”
The Hare Krishna Maha Mantra
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
Although the Hare Krishna maha mantra is recommended as a primary and most efficacious means of developing love of God, it is also recommended almost universally in the other major scriptural traditions to glorify the name of God.
Many references to this truth can be found in the Koran, the Bible and so on, therefore it is also incumbent on followers of all religious traditions to chant, sing and glorify the Holy Name.

Haha, good godwin there - you begin by asking an open ended non sided question, but then try to shove God down peoples' throat.
What's the most important thing you can learn in your life? That "God" is not a human, and is not a "person" that has an "identity." The closest word we currently have for "God" is "Energy."
Back in the day, they said "God" as a metaphor and allegory to explain to the stupid humans of the world what the Universe and the Energy of such stood for - because they couldn't go into mathematical equations or scientific studies - they just had to say
"Well, ok, this person - let's call him Allah, or God, or whatever - came down from the heavens and punished the world by drowning everyone in it." Instead of saying the ice age melted and there was flooding that killed most of the population of the world.
It's just easier for small brains to understand. Kind of like yours! If you really honestly think God is a "person" or has an "identity" you've completely missed years of tutoring in Christian Church.
God is all knowing, everywhere, interchangeable, cannot be destroyed or created... very very "not human" like.
Cheers!

The most important information that a human can aquire is the knowledge that the person next to them will make them as happy as they could every be.
So many people go through life hurting others and themselves because they never truely realize this.
Knowing where the pirates buried all that treasure would be a close second.

As Per the Gita (The Hindu Bible) it is the awareness of 'Tat Tvam Asi' or That Thou Art. Or 'Ahem Bhramasmi' ie; I am the Bhrama. Which means that the Supreme soul resides within me. Knowing ones own self is supreme knowledge. You can achieve Nirwana (Budhism) or Moksha (Hinduism) by acquiring the supreme knowledge. This can be achieved by Meditation which essentially aims at awakening the mythical coiled serpant (Kundalini) residing at the base of your spine and making it travel to spot on your forehead between the eyes. Approximately where the Hindu (Women mostly) place the dot. During its upward travel the Kundalini has to pass through 36 Chakras.
Let me assure my Christian brethren that this form of Yogic meditation does not in any way conflict with your religious beliefs.

The most important piece of information a human being can aquire is the knowledge that he isn't who he thinks he is. Everything else follows that.

You just answered your own question. Understanding and realizing God's REAL identity is key to getting to know Him and His purposes. His name is Jehovah, and he intends to bring an end to this old world and usher in a new world free of pain, suffering, disease, and death. You can get to know him as a person, but you must look into your own Bible and show a deep interest in what you're learning. Also, you must pray earnestly and persistantly to him for help in understanding what you're studying. Do this and you'll find that what the Bible actually teaches is quite beneficial and not burdensome. Go to www.watchtower.org for more information.

The Golden Rule: Treat others as you would like to be treated.
For Christians this is a derivative of the maxim presented by Jesus Christ when asked which is the most important of all the laws of Judaeism. His reply, "Love your nieghbor as yourself and love God with all your heart."
Interestingly, Christians later develop the concept that God is within each of us through the presence of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, loving God with all your heart also means loving other people with all your heart. The two concepts of loving your nieghbor and loving God become one consistent, non-exclusive maxim for life.
While Christians cling to the principal as doctrine, most non-christians also appreciate the principal as one that generally creates happiness and is the basis of organized societal living.

I realized that each human being CAN open their OWN eyes and see the truth, without the illusions that the world attaches to so-called reality. That each of us is capable of finding our own truth. Yes, I think if an individual follows their own path they will realize there is a Divine force of some sort. Then they will become acquainted with that Force.

Ignoring the God part and answering the original question, I'd say:
Knowing that you can never love another or be loved in return if you do not love yourself is the most important thing. In addition to that, it would be helpful to know that you are extraordinary, no matter how ordinary anyone tries to make you.
