If Universalists would stop at "belief in God and living rightly" as their preaching/doctrine, would you be a Universalist?

If I would be a religioius person, then a I would be intolerant with other religions. However, I will preach religious tolerance so others would see how tolerant is my religion. All religious persons are hypocrites regarding religious tolerance. Religious persons pretend to make peace but inside their mind they want to make proselytes. Deep inside you want all to believe in your belief, because now you're a "special" person. In itself religion, any religion is intolerant.
And there is another kind of hypocrites who say something like: "well I am not a religious person but please respect the religion, or belief of other person". It's just religious cowardice.
Some opinions?

I think that we all know that God creat it us, then why do we confrot him so much, i meen he is ALWAYS there 4 us + he protects us & we still ask him why, some times people even curse him out, DO U KNOW HOW HE MUST FEEL!! We need 2 thanks him every day 4 everything, at least 4 letting us have computers. We should all start thinking before talking or asking, he would like that 2!!

They say they love Jesus (whose New Testament is more about love thy neighbor), yet they seem to quote from the Old Testament when it comes to all of the major political issues like homosexuality abortion etc. My opinion: The Jews only have the Old Testament/Torah so leave the hellfire and brimstone to them and lets focus on the love peace and acceptance.

Some churches or faith require that the women wear hats at all times what is the religious reasoning behind this. I was an Epistocal church(sorry about the spelling I'm new to religion) and saw that all women had to have on a hat.

I hear so many Christians say "Im a Christian but I dont take the bible literally". Is this a good thing? If the word of God is supposed to provide a light to a dark path and lead people into correct living, and Satan's only desire is to have men to fall and not do as God would have them to, dont you think that the source of the advice to not take the bible too literally is Satan and not God? If we are engaged in spiritual warfare, shouldnt we want to arm ourselves with the word of God.

Didnt Christ use verses from the old testiment writers frequently in his sermons to the people? If we pick and choose what to follow and what not to follow , what to believe and what not to believe, arent we really deciding what is right and wrong? Doenst the bible when describe people who are very far away from God describe them as everyone doing what is right in their own heart.

Isnt that why homosexuality is an issue in the church? Would the disciple have spent time debating if it was right?

How many of you went to work today and gave no thought to your coworker might not be saved? How many of you stayed home and watched tv and your neighbor is lost and undone without Christ? This is not to point fingers at you but to make you think about those around you.. We all need to witness to those who are not saved..

take any issue - and show me bible verses against it
and I will show you other verses for it--------------
So really what good is it? Other than some entertaining little stories???
Don't get me wrong, those little stories have helped me greatly in my life, but nothing i have read in it makes me believe it is the ultimate authority of what is right and wrong, or the words from the creator of all things - the Star Wars movies and other sources have helped me out just as much --

If you believe in following the Bible - how is it possible??

Just thought I'd put a question mark on the end of that famous line. Personally I think religion was something created by humanity at a time when humans didn't have the means to figure out why the world worked as it did (science, technology etc). I also think that people stick to religion as a means of feeling safe; they delude themselves into believing an illusion—an illusion that there is order in the universe, and that salvation is possible. The number of atheists in the world is growing...maybe one day religion will be looked upon as a barbaric, primitive custom as humanity grows more advanced.

the national entity, is function of the human government. This function includes the concept of a courtroom and the policeman on the beat. In no way is this intended to be derogatory toward the law; to the contrary, it is a recognition of the importance of law enforcement, and the proper prosecution of law in the courtroom. However, there came a time in human history when this very important function broke down completely, and, of all things with the only Person who was absolutely perfect in His humanity.

Your thoughts?

God is all knowing, so we're told. He creates some 'friends', one gives him trouble. He creates some subjects, they won't listen, God tries to communicate his instructions but they are misinterpreted several times. We have to suffer day to day because at some point, some of you who didn't ask to be here in the first place will we thrown into the eternal recycler, while the other will live happily ever after. Why???

Based upon Hebrews 6:1-6
1. They teach a person can loose their salvation.
2. They teach a person can regain their salvation.
3. They teach a person can again loose their salvation.
4. They teach a person can again regain their salvation.
5. They teach this can happen an unlimited amount of time.
6. Yet, since they teach that Hebrews 6:1-6 is talking about a Christian loosing his/her salvation they are ignoring a really big point. Hebrews 6:6 says "it is IMPOSSIBLE to renew them again..."
7. The most they should be teaching is that the Christian can have salvation and loose it, but then THAT'S IT! No more chances, no more opportunities....

I am a Catholic and to me the Eucharist is truly the Body of Christ. I love communion as it is then then my Lord comes to dwell with me. I feel His presence always but more at that moment. What does communion mean to you?Not judging this is just a chance to express your belief. Please do the same.
