No death is not hereditary in the sense you have mentioned. But remember all life has to taste the death invariably as a fact of life.

Death is by all means hereditary. It is programmed into our genetic code and unavoidable in the long run because organic life will continue the depletion of its replication during its lifetime due to DNA mutation and deterioration.
Of course, man will inevitably extend his lifetime, due to genetic manipulation and other obvious improvements; however, man's creation, cybernetic systems, will be able to replicate themselves and extend their lives indefinitely. We might find solace in the fact that our creations will live far longer than us which is a quantum immortality of sorts.
Don't give up hope for your descendants!

Yes, death is hereditary and everybody inherits it. It is built into human beings.
We don't learn it. We don't "catch" it. We are born with it. From the moment we begin we are headed to only one thing: Death.
