Yes, it would be fine for you to go anywhere to learn more about Gods word. I myself am a member of a great Baptist Church and have gone to different Churches to learn more and to different Bible study groups. There is a great Bible study if you could find one in your area that starts with Biblical "milk" (easy basic concepts) and goes through "Meat" the harder concepts that are widely debated even among members of the same denominations.

When it comes to God, I wouldn't let another denomination keep me from learning more about God. I understand that you are involved in one church and that's just fine. But there's no reason you can't go to another group just to see how they do things. Maybe you will be able grasp the study better there. Then again, it may seem so alien that you may realize that you were where you belonged in the first place. Perhaps the group you study with is more advanced and take it for granted that everyone knows what they are talking about.

I would say that where ever you get your spiritual food, watch to make sure that it is authentic. there are a lot of people that will tell u anything, as long as u'r wallet is attached. I would speak to your Deaconess, and take her with u. Stay with your spiritual covering for the import and stuff. But fellowship often with others. Start your own Bible study at home on Saturdays. Ask a spiritual leader from the church to come and sit in. And start in Matthew, Not Genesis. While "in the Beginning" is all good. We live by what Jesus set the example for. We just get info from the OT.

Yes, I'm sure the church would be excited for you to attend. Have you ever heard of BSF? It's a bible study that's not affiliated with any particular church and they hold classes worldwide. I loved it and learned how to study the word of God for myself. Check out bsfinternational.org

It is more than ok to attend a bible study somewhere other than one church.
I attend BSF (bible study fellowship) and it is held at all different churches. My class is at a baptist church and my husbands is just a few blocks down at a non denominational 1rst Christian church.
I grew up baptist and my husband grew up Catholic, and we attend a non denominational church for regular worship.
As long as the bible study is doctrinal, meaning sticks to the bible and the bible alone, you are just fine.

I think that's a great idea! Going to different churches will open you up to different points of view, and interpretations of the bible. You could even take what you learn there, back to your Baptist church.
Good luck!
