It seems everybody from Catholics, Methodists, Moslems, child molesters, wife beaters, etc. say they are going to heaven. My feeling is it will be a lot different than what the majority of us think. What do you think?

I am in the process of reading "Left to Tell-Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust." Most of the reviews in the first couple of pages are from New Age gurus (Dr. Wayne Dyer wrote the forward). There are no reviews that I can see by any noted Christian evangilist or authors.

It is an awesome book. I just find it interesting that the New Agers have embraced it and Christians have (to my knowledge) ignored it. HELP ME UNDERSTAND.

I don't believe in the biblical God. That God sounds too much like a guy on a cloud with a book, who judges people all the time on their behaviour. That version sounds to silly to me. No offense, but to me it does.

I kinda believe in a God that is a power or energy of Love hanging around this planet. But i have no idea. Belief is in this even a too big word, it's more a hope. I hope this form of God exists.
My logic tells me that my hopes might be idle hopes, but i still hope.

Can you describe me your version of God?

Do you envoke a certain Goddess and God or just a general one? I pray to Athena and Pan.

4:76 Those who believe do battle for the cause of Allah; and those who disbelieve do battle for the cause of idols. So fight the minions of the devil. Lo! the devil's strategy is ever weak.

Believers fight for Allah; disbelievers fight for the devil. So fight the minions of the devil?

So, believers fight the christians and jews?

There is Written Tradition (the Bible) and Oral Traditon. How come some Christians only believe in the Bible? Tradition was passed on orally before the Bible was put together. You learned abou Jesus orally before you even knew what a Bible was. The Word of God is also found in sacred Tradition.

If hell is located in the center of the earth, then it must be a tangible fire. How, therefore, is it possible to affect non-tangible things such as a spirit for example?

could it be because there was not sufficient knowledge to safely prepare these foods?
could it be to separate the people (want to come over for dinner? what are you having, pork, no thanks)
could it have been to show the separation on God's chosen people and then when Jesus died for all sins it was abolished as a sign that All people (through Christ) can be God's chosen ones now (spiritual Isreal)?

The Bible talks about Jesus having siblings. Why do Catholics seem to prefer to say that those verses mean something else?
