you (Jesus)let the things you did get so out of hand. You'd have managed better if you'd had it planned. Why'd you choose such a backward time and such a strange land? If you'd come today you would have reached a whole nation. Israel in BC had no mass communication. Don't you get me wrong-I only want to know.

"A god could not have created a more vicious cycle if it tried: Tying the very existence of life with the necessary killing of other life is the work of an evil genius, not of an all-powerful and all-loving god"

This happens to be my situation. I'm absolutely convinced that the claims of christianity are bogus but I love the folks at my parent's church (I'm living on my own BTW). Should I go anyway?

Okay, I was answering this other questionhttp://answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=20060612123947AA2lDRY&r=w&pa=FZptHWf.BGRX3OFMhDRUVGMYRk1KrLTnRGOeQgNI7le3AGOmiA--#NbUvWzS.Uji0fQ6sdHS0
When I stumbled on a thought.

Romans 13: 1-3

Basically, that we should submit to authority, because God has established them in that position, and to rebel "will bring judgment on themselves"
It goes on to say
3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you.

So, (and Im looking for real answers here)
Does this say we should follow the law of the land, whatever our government authority is, or do we do the "right" things anyway? For examples, abortion is legal, does that mean God wanted it that way? Or, if Gay marriage become legal did God want it that way as he established that Government.

Isn't that admitting that He made a mistake? That man didn't turn out the way He expected him to, so He flooded the earth?

God; "I am all powerful, all knowing and I'm going to make a 'man' and put him on this ball of land and water I have created."
And then there was Adam
"Hmm...I think Adam needs a companion, so I'll knock him out, cut him open, and steal a rib. Then close him and wake him. With this rib I shall make a 'woman'."
And then there was Eve, and her and Adam are related, and God wants them to have sex. Together!
"Adam and Eve will conceive children, and then their children will have sex with each other so they can produce more offspring, thus starting my great plan of war, disease, over-population, and famine, not to mention freaks like Saddam Hussein! Ha! This will be great and I know this will happen, because I'm omniscient!"
Hmm.....doesn't sound like it will work. Okay, lets try a different approach. Thousands, or millions of years ago, depending on your.....

I believe a lot of what the bible says and although I haven't been officially saved in a church, since I refuse to go because I want to stay away from denominations, I believe I am saved because Jesus died for ALL our sins. I don't believe in Hell and I don't believe that Christians are the only people going to Heaven. So am I a Christian?

Muhammad for example owned slaves (like many slave owners, he released them on his death), married and had sex with a child of 9, ordered the death of thosands, and had many wives. Is this what we might expect.

Start by describing the ideal without mentioning any supposed prophet.

MATURE responses only!!! Dont take offense, this is a serious question I've wanted to know the answer to for a long time. Can some one with a good understaning of both religions explain this to me.

I dont know that much about Christianity or Judaism but I've heard it said that in the Bible the Jews are God's chosen people, so I was wondering why dont they believe in Jesus ( maybe some do, I dont really know) and wasnt Jesus himself also a Jew?

Another way to state this would be: Does the New Testament position affirm or deny the Old Testament's approval of capital punishment? (Any verses mentioned would be great. Thanks.)
