Well cosmology is a very complex subject - it combines molecular and sub-atomic quantum physics. Newtonian and Einsteinian depictions of energy. It requires modeling a distant time when time had barely begun. And it requires conceiving of the ten dimensional world of superstrings. Or is that in fact twistors, and not superstrings?
Given the complexity of the discipline, I certainly change my mind on the topic slowly - it takes a great deal of time to digest a new theory, and determine for myself how convincing it is... but I don't think my slowness in doing so, or even reluctance, should be cause for viewing myself as "pathetic" - merely cautious.

I've changed my mind about it lots of times. I've done all kinds of research too. I think I've finally reached a point where I'm happy with what I've chosen, and won't get sucked into the next marketing campaign that promises to clear up zits, zap wrinkles and diminish pores.

then I would persue learning about as many cosmologies as I could. Then if nothing changed my views, even slightly I would consider myself a most unlearned individual.
