At the Wkipedia link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intelligence_quotient
I found the following information,
"Several studies have investigated the relationship between intelligence (as measured by grades, education and a few other factors) and the degree of religious belief, with most showing a negative correlation."
It amazes me some of the dogmatic inflexible and what I consider silly responses I and others get to questions here from Christians. They seem unwilling to read anything that challenges their dogma.
Do you think the quote above is partly the reason for this.?

I find it quite perplexing that certain ceremonies are not legal binding yet they allow gay marriages yet when I marry i have to go through all the legalities of regestary offices just so that I can have the same rights as a "normal married" person. (wiccan handfasting are not reconised)

Bible is not the original first version, but changed.. modified...
So bible isn't right and only became trash in our world. Al-quran
never translated to all language and the contain still same with another Al-quran in the world. So, the people who produce Al-quran can't trick us. In the last page of Bible said "The last phropet is
military leader and nation leader". Jesus is not a military leader or nation leader but Muhammad SAW is military leader and nation leader. So, I think Islam is right.

Sounds like a stupid question, but with such suprising evidance that we have that our country was founded on the belief (or influenced by) a religion...Why is it when someone commits a crime they cant get away with it if they say "God told me to do it".

Think about it for a second.

i dont mean just parts that suit individuals needs, but all of the Bible!if we all used Gods law in our daily lives i truely believe our world would be a better place.(and not just parts of the Bible)

we use to live by good morals and live by His word...well the majority anyways...but not even close now!most of us only go by the parts that help ourselves in selfish ways!
for the non-believers...just pretend (for one week) that you truley believe in God and live by His words and His laws and see if most of your problems dont go away! some of you are looking for answers to different things,so just try my little experiment and prove me wrong...

i am only stateing my beliefs and you may do the same, but i hope you try the experiment for one week and see if i am right or wrong!

no trolls please

Most serious biblical scholars accept the fact that a lot of the New Testament had been added to later and changed by people with vested interests.

Because you are a devout Christian. These means nothing to you correct?

In Isaiah 7:14 the Bible gives a prophecy. It says, "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel."

Uhm, am I missing something here?

I believe in life, free-thought, and physics. I believe in reality, and that through the scientific process hypotheses can be supported or rejected so we as a species may find answers in this world of questions. I don't intend to live my life based on myth and superstition

think about it...most things that goes on in our society is not His will...think about this:IF WE WERE TRUELY GOD FEARING AND TRUELY LOVED GOD (MEANING EVERYONE OF US) THEN THERE WOULD BE NARDLY ANYTHING WRONG WITH OUR COUNTRY! THATS MY HONEST OPINION AND I TRUELY BELIEVE THAT IS THE TRUTH!!!

AND IT GOES FOR ME AS WELL...I AM BY NO MEANS PERFECT

NO TROLLS!!!!!!!!!JUST YOUR OPINION.......

for example, i see many people becoming religious because it shields them from the suffering, and makes them happy again.

so, they are suffering and feeling depressed, and then along comes religion and lifts them out of it.

just getting at what underlies the belief, and not saying that's a good or bad thing about religion, but these people prolly would.

I don't have a lot of knowledge about Christianity, and I'd like to get to know more...

I understand that Jesus died on the cross for "us", but there's still something that's confusing and mind boggling. Did Jesus die on the cross to save those people then? What about those people before Him? How did He die and "save" us, the people from 2,000 years later after His death?

Any thoughts, comments, welcomed.

i guess overall, i have only seen people decide to believe in god and become religious when they have suffered greatly.

i have not seen someone become a religious believer after they have had a tremendously happy experience in a life context in which there has been no recent or present suffering.

god may be seen to make people happy when there has been recent suffering or when there is present suffering however - causing them to become religious. imho

Is it mandatory that when `Wali' i.e. the legal guardian of the girl is present at the time of Nikah and give his consent for the marriage, only then the marriage could be valid?
Suppose the girl is a new converted muslim but her parents are non-muslim and not agreeing to her marriage with a muslim boy, how the Nikah would be possible? The girl and boy love each other and want to marry under Islamic Shara'iah only.

I mean, think about it. Revelation says that there are architectural structures there and that is a form of technology, so why can't there be some type of half-spiritual and half-physical electronics or engineering methods, etc?
