First of all, try to differentiate between your ego and your true self. Everything in you that is good and real and true is from God; everything in you that is corrupt and ugly and false is from your ego. The ego is your fear based self and all harmfulness and suffering is derived -- or produced -- from this fearful unconsious part of you. The Good News is the ego has no power over you once you surrender it consciously to God and allow Him to transform you into a Being capable and trustworthy of carrying His Spirit 24/7. This is what it means to be reborn of Light. You develop beyond your fears so that Christ embodies you; and your every thought word and action becomes consciously One with Him at all times.

The ego withers away when we stop feeding it...we feed it by buying into the idea that we're powerless to overcome it. That thought is for the faithless! The Light casts out ALL darkness!! To know this is to live in Faith that anything is possible and that no order of miracles is too large for a child of God. It is a process to be made into a temple for God to dwell in, but in order for that process to happen in you, YOU must know and believe that it can! This is what conscious faith in a conscious relationship with God looks like. It goes way beyond mental belief and actually transforms you Top down, inside and out. You were born to be enlightened and all your 'wrong-doing' will only help make you more compassionate of other on the path when you ARE enlightened. Nothing is wasted when we live in God!

The key is learning to become aware of your ego...as it's tempting you to go against God. It works like this: if you say Yes to your temptation and act on it, you will be weaker the next time the temptation arises. But if you say No to the temptation and instead act from Goodness and Light, next time the temptation comes up it will be easier to say No to. This is how you reprogram your personality in partnership with the Holy Spirit. Remember that when you say no to temptation also ask for divine grace to take the egoic pattern from you.

Don't do this with guilt because guilt is from ego....do it with understanding that egos cannot act in Goodness...and that your ego must be cleared and transcended in order to be free of suffering and harm-doing. Once the ego is cleared the lifeline to the satanic energies is cut off and you literally become like Christ, and able to love as He loves. Just as He promised!! We are brought into His body -- we become One with Him.

This is my experience -- hope it helps :-) email me with any questions if any of this rings true for you!

Being a Christian is not a bad thing, but what you need is faith in God, you may thinl this is the same, well it's not. Forget about the bible as it is now, and all that you have been told, open your heart and listen to yourself, think of how the bible has been changed by man for man to gain, and profit, and worst of all to control you. God does not want this, he wants you to have frre will, it say's that in the bible, yet when you try and have it you get some religios person, say it's wrong search your heart you know I'm right. Never lose faith in God, but give up on being a Christian

Love & Peace

Just do as you are doing. Its always a struggle to keep ones faith
if one is not blind to reality. WE are all tempted. Be your real serf not just what you religion demands. Think before you do something. But remember we all make mistakes, Catholics go to confession. Not necessary really confess within yourself and be what you want to be The act as you think you should. The pat of life is winding all the way with many obstacles and sidepaths..Dead end lanes to. It easy to be diverted from time to time for we no not where these paths lead. Curiosity is good as long as we are careful Adventure is good as long as we are not foolish. Sex is goo. Its natural. It has a purpose. Its a pleasure. Its part of love. God or faith in another is part of love. Not everyone is faith-full But there is at least hope against adversity

Being a Christian l have found,is not about struggling with sin.
Sin is dealt with 'naturally' when you focus on spiritual things. lt's so true...What you read, where you go,what movies you see,who you hang out with....they all shape your thoughts and the behaviour that follows your thinking processes.
This is because of the way we are made,we progress from inwards to outwards-- what we hear/see/read etc=what we think = what we want =what we end up doing. See?
So,all the answers given are right, ask for forgiveness, hang out more with other Christians, pray more ...... but above all, dry up the source of your problems -watch the input in your life, because it affects the output.
As you grow, the Flesh will stop being so much of a problem.
Peace.

Do not try so hard. Very few Christians have even begun to keep the word as they say they do and should. We all have thoughts of all kinds good and bad. What is important is who you are. If you are truly a good person and a great many are, you have nothing to be concerned about. You will as I and all of us Mike wrong decisions from time to time. That is part of being human. Belonging to a group of people such as a church or even a cult does not make a person good or bad. We have the choice and we make of the choices as we want.

Deal with the reason you have had these currents thoughts/feelings and establish the cause. Find a resolution and find a passage in teh bible to help deal with the issue. Even christians have bad thoughts and feelings. So long as you try your hardest to lead a good christian life and have faith stop worrying.
It says alot that you are concerned about having these thoughts, doesnt that tell you something?

With the world being in the state it is in, with all the bad people around, children dying, people being killed, I don't see how any faith can stand the test of time (esp christian).

I knowwhen something bad hapens to anadult - you say god is testing your faith, but what about a baby? If it is born with no chance of a decent life due to illness, what has that bay done? Yes, you can still come back to testing the faith of the parent, but how is that justified for the baby?

Makes no sense to me.

It's good to know that you have returned to your faith. And it shows that your attitude has changed by admitting to your shortcomings and by your willingness to set things straight.

You're not alone in your struggles. We all get into lapses at times as old habits creep up back into our systems. But at least now you are more equipped since you do know what needs to be done. Ask for forgiveness from those whom you have wronged and promise not to do them again. Ever. Fast and pray.

And you'll be back on track in no time.

Peace be with you!

Don't worry, a lot of things can come into our thoughts, even self declared holy men have nasty and naughty thoughts. But what is most imortant is that you know the defining line between what is evil and what is not. Evil thoughts should not be transformed into action, it should only remain in the thought and be part of our imagination.

well start by praying and trying to focus on god read your bible and see if god will speak to you through it.
remember there will always be temptation in you life which you overcome BUT god will never let anything come near you which you can't stand. That means that you will always be able to come with his strength -- that's important use god as your crutch and you strength he will guide you.
Personally I find that if I am having thoughts which I know I shouldn't or I want to put some ungodly actions behind me I imagine a door closing on it. Sometimes I have to slam the door several times but it usually works.

God Bless
