i don't believe everything i'm told.
and i certainly don't believe that which makes absolutely no sense.

god is one of those things.

i believe in myself because that's all i can really count on in life, my brain, my morality, my abilities. i'm not going to put my trust in another person and god seems to just be another "person" who is loving, smart and at the same time is vengeful, lies, and has a hidden agenda.

to the creationist: to say something (life coming about by chance) is only remotely possible is NOT evidence for the contrary.
i suggest a philosophy and logic class.
(the class really helps to understand how to argue - i took one my freshman year of college)

Some persons argue that there is no prove of any divine origin, there is no prove that there is a God, there is no proves that this universe has come about for any divine purpose; there are people who argue this way. And they say that perhaps this world came about by chance. A big bang and this whole great world, with all its orchestration just came together. And they argue that life does not have any definite purpose and that there is nothing that can be proven through by the logic or science that there is a God or purpose or any divine reason behind this world.

If you took 10 marbles and number them 1 to 10 and all of them with different colours and you put them inside of a bag and shook the bag and then closing your eyes reached inside that bag, and I told you, pull out marble number 1 and then marble number 2 and then pull out marble number 3 in order. What’s the chance of your pulling out of these 10 marbles in order? Do you know the chances are? Its 26 millions to 1. So what’s the chance of the heavens and the earth being thrown in a big bang and orchestrated like they are. What’s the chance of that?

What the question should be is, "Why does anyone believe in god anymore at all?" Fear I guess. I can understand primitive cultures still going to the well. They haven't come up with any new ideas since the invention of the sandal. But the rest of us have no excuse.

I look at it this way: If my daughter killed her brother and the state left it up to me, there is no way I could sentence her to death. Then I have lost two children. I love my children too much. But god is supposed to "be" love. So he must love all his children like way more than I do mine. But god would not only let my daughter die for murdering her brother, he'd send her to hell. Forever. Unless of course she said she was really, really sorry and the J man is in her heart and blah, blah, blah. Then, it's milk and honey on the other side! So god is kinda like that duck in the Afflac commercials.

I don't believe Jesus because Bible is not the original first version, but changed.. modified.... So bible isn't right and only became trash in our world. Al-quran
never translated to all language and the contain still same with another Al-quran in the world. So, the people who produce Al-quran can't trick us. In the last page of Bible said "The last phropet is
military leader and nation leader". Jesus is not a military leader or nation leader but Muhammad SAW is military leader and nation leader. So, I think Islam is right.

I myself am agnostic ...
I don't belive in God because if there was ever a God there was not so much wickedness, atrocity, outrage and sadness around the world...
on the other hand I sometimes feel like there should be something to give us a reason for living on this stupid planet...

i dont believe in the Christian god because he betrayed me. forget him.
I promised him i wouldnt have sex until marriage, and his idea of a little Joke would be to let me be raped. then when i sought help and guidence (Read: Freedom from Guilt since i had broken my most sacred of promises) the Christian god laughed in my face again as my pastor blamed me.
Screw the Christian god if he toys with his followers like that. he isnt worth my prayers and dedication.

I once believed in a "god".....but evolved years ago, spiritually, to the point I could not believe without being dishonest with myself.

Nothing and no one forced me to change my beliefs. I did not lose the "god" belief, either. My soul and my beliefs just evolved, changed over time. :-) I think it changed when I starting thinking my soul was not "given by god"....so this belief led me to the change.

I believe that this is it. I don't live my life just so I can get some goodies when I die.

People ask "why is it so hard for you to imagine that one god created everything?" I ask "why is it so hard for you to imagine that there is no one singular god?"

BTW, I don't classify myself as a "non-believer". I'm not a negative.

I don't believe in god because when I was at my lowest point and prayed and begged for some help he just ignored me.
