Constantly people are trying to convert me and my mom to whatever religion they are. I have always woundered why. Is it because they are insecure with their religion or what? If it helps I am not Christian (some of my best friends are) but I am Pagan.

We agreed to raise our kids in the Nazarene church. I wanted to buy him a new Bible for father's day (he mentioned wanting one like mine....not Catholic), but now he says it HAS to be a Catholic Bible. He will accept another Bible, but the Catholic one is the one he would use the most. I don't get it. He's never read the other books in the Catholic Bible, so what difference does it make? Are there any websites that could help us sort through our religious differences?

Is the significance of the number seven in Matthew 7:1 meaning that it is holy?

think about it:
Matthew has 7 letters
It is in the 7th chapter of Mattew
The quote 'judge not, that ye be not judged' has seven syllables.

that's 777!

A law that has been recognized in biology since the time of Pasteur: "Life comes from life." That is, a living organism can be generated only from another living organism. For example, mammals are born from their mothers. Nothing has ever been observed to the contrary. Throughout the history of the world no one has ever witnessed lifeless matter giving birth to a living being. Of course, there were those in Ancient Egypt, Greece and the Middle Ages who thought they had observed such an outcome; However, their beliefs proved to be out of ignorance, and finally, in his famous experiments in the 1860's, Pasteur proved that even bacteria, the most basic form of life, did not come to be without a predecessor.
Darwin attempted to describe the origins of life, about which he knew little, in a short sentence, wherein he stated that life must have first appeared "some warm little pond," but evolutionists that followed him became concerned about elaborating on this matter.

cancer, I am not dogging you in anyway, just engaging a thoughtfull conversation. But I do find it interesting that first off, you want me to read the bible, and that makes it all make sense? I dont think so, you want me to believe what someone has written and have it be so? And going to church?! Thats a joke, church is scandilous, look at all the prosecutions of priests and clergy, and the fact that they pass around a collection bin? For what, so the church can be remodeled? Or have gold candle sticks? And to believe the clergy? Pope? Priests? The ancient Romans and Greeks believed in "gods" aswell, there high priests would claim that they saw a vision and walked with "god" and heard his word. When in reality they were in a state of halusination! They would consume a tonic comprised of cocaine!! As far as your mother, Im glad to see that she is a survior, had a couple in my family as well and am greatfull they are still with us. But how do you put into account that it was "gods
