Saint Peter, with Saint Paul coming in a close second.

I think this says it:

Mat 18:1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
Mat 18:2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
Mat 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

There's not a contest "who is the best" being a Christian is about following God, living like Jesus.

"Jesus, knowing their thoughts, took a little child and had him stand beside him. Then he said to them, "Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For he who is least among you all—he is the greatest."
Luke 9:47-49 (NIV)
How can you ask who the greatest Christian of all time was? The greatest is probably one fo the missionaries who die for their faith but never gain recognition of any sort.
For that is the ultimate display of faith. Living with a full Servants attitude and no longer caring about yourself, but about Him.
I personally admire Paul for my pre-christian testimony is similar to his, but I do not believe he is the greatest

I'm sure the greatest Christian will only be learned in eternity. Because Jesus said, "if you want to be great in the kingdom of God, you must learn to be the servant of all." Servants usually don't get a lot of press. Sister Theresa is a rare example. Great Christians don't strive for greatness, they strive to please God in every aspect of their life.

I basicly have 2 people in mind for this answer....

The apostile Paul. Because he expanded the christian world to the non Jew.

& Vlad Dracula. Romanian ruler durring the days of the Ottoman Empire. I have studied his rule & his family to a great extent & have grown to admire him as a very devoted Christian, & ruler to his people.

I don't think there is a "greatest" one. I mean, all people sin & fall short of the glory of God. No one is better than anyone else. Some are more well-known, but not necessairly better Christians.

AMEN to Dear Old Dad's answer! That's totally correct. If you were to ask Paul if he were the best Christian, he would have you read the book of Romans again. I think it's there that he writes that he's the worst sinner there is. What he wants to do, he doesn't do, what he doesn't want to do, he does, etc..

ooh, good question. I guess I would have to say Paul because he formulated so much of foundational Christian thought, but
Mother Theresa, Martin Luther King Jr., would have to be in the top 10. It would be easier if we could divide them up into categories, like theologians, etc...oh well.
