material possessions? What does that mean? Whenever you see them they mention it and when they do they downplay whatever new item I buy. For instance if I buy a new car, he says, hows that old junky car of yours?- in front of people too. Why dosent this guy talk to me about other things, why is it always about downplaying my material possessions?

The only part of the answer I know at present is that it's definitely tradition, not a technical or procedural requirement of any sort. So why do the U.S. & many other countries mint their coins in this manner? Is there more than one traditional reason for various parts of the globe?

HI,im 18 and im a big metal listner my self i like bands like (dream theatre, symphony x,kamelot, stratovarius) and everyone styreotypes me as this crazy sick person who cuts himself every night.
the thing is of course im not.the reason i listen to metal is that instead of making my body dance it makes my soul dance (my view).i sometimes imagine that my soul is smoke and watch it dance infront of me.that is the reason.and i hope everyone knows that.
i do get "crazy" in concerts from time to time.but thats only coz im so exited to be seeing my idols right infront of me.
btw metal is not the only genre i listen 2 i listen to classical music as well and i learnt the piano 4 that reason.
the reason im asking is that i want to know if there are some people who actually think im metal listners are "normal".
thanx 4 ur time and i hope im dissapointed to think that all people think that way of metal fans.

I read through these posts each day, I am amazed and shocked to see that most of the younger people asking questions can not even spell correctly. I don't blame them, I blame the schools for pushing them through without teaching them correctly, and their parents for not putting their foot down and getting the kids the extra help to learn the right way. Why are these kids having to ask questions about sex, wondering how they got pregnant, relationships and the real world here instead of getting the proper answers at home? And then to see how many use this area to post racist or pornographic innuendos is appalling. What happened to common sense or respect for others? Why does Yahoo block people who ask real questions or give real answers, but seem to overlook and allow this kind of trash to get posted?

I am researching the topic of Sexual Deviance and have all the topics covered except one:

Specifically, I need an example of an item dealing with Sexual Deviance which was once legal, but is now illegal or at least considered EXTREMELY taboo in the U.S. for whatever reason.

This can be an item that was sold, it can be a service which was rendered (thinking more along the lines of in the medical profession), or anything else of the like. I am trying to stay away from pedofilia and prostitution which I have already covered.

I have searched the internet and havent found anything that I like, but I figured perhaps someone has seen something at an antique show, or knows of something of the sort, or even has such an item.

I appreciate the help!

I know that anything in the gene pool can come out but I'm just wondering everyone's opinions on what my baby will look like. I have light brown/dirty blonde hair naturally, blue eyes, and very very fair skin. I am a quarter italian but there is no evidence of that in my pale skin! My husband is half puerto rican/half black, but his father who is black almost looks mixed but both parents are black just light skinned. My husband has hazel eyes, light caramel complexion, and black hair. What do you THINK my baby will look like? I am hoping it gets atleast a little bit of a tan? haha i'd like to know everyone's opinions.

Why is it that when someone wins, or is winning a debate (in any of its formes from simple conversational debate to full blown argument), the other side will often start using personal slurs and attacks and get off the subject.
example:
person A: OK I will show you that politician X is against that position. Here in the paper X said that he would move to block a vote on that!
Person B: You're a jerk! How can you be so stupid to think that blocking the vote is the same as being against it?! I mean there are many reasons for that tactic. do you have dog crap for brains or what?

Is that American level of arrogance so great that the average person cannot accpt efeat, even in the the most trivial thing?
Maybe it all starts in kindergarten when a kids looses and says, you cheated! because he will not accept the other person's superior ability or luck.
What do you think?

(also what do you think they are trying to do?) In other words why would someone be sooo insensitive to ASK ABOUT personal stuff?...What to say the next time???

I am a strong and outspoken black woman, and I have never dated outside my race because:1. I'm not attracted to any other men. 2. I feel that a non-black man would not understand me or my background. 3. I feel that he is not strong enough to "handle" me: physically, mentally, and emotionally. So therefore, I will only date black men.

I'm at work right now, and my department is having an discussion about this question. One of my male co-workers, who is black, says that white women are "submissive" to their mates, and black women are "fussier." I say: "We (black women) don't take any B.S from a man, and we are not going to let him treat, say, and do us "any kind of way", and not say anything about it!" "That's what makes "us" stronger than any other woman that is not black!"

Men, do you agree with my co-worker?

Women, do you agree with me?
