I find the answers here to be surprising. Judging from most of my experiences most people do get deeply defensive (aka offended) when someone sticks to their guns and continues to disagree with them about something. Perhaps everyone knows that they shouldn't be offended, but when it comes down to it most of them irrationally are.
I don't feel offended that peope disagree with me, I just worry that they find me not valuable as a result.

No, but alot of people actually are. Everyone wants to be right. Some people don't realize that different views are what makes this world a wonderful place. It offer's learning experiences, tech. advances, med. advances., discoveries, well you get the picture.
So NO we should not be offended, but more often then not,,,we are.
To me the better question would be "WHY"

It depends what it is and if their view is offensive. For example if i think blue is the nicest colour and you think red, i wouldnt be offended. If however i think rapists should be castrated and you think they should be given community service then yes, i think i would have the right to be offended by your differing view.

Sadly some people will be offended no matter what, even if you share the same view.

Absolutely not. Being offended is showing lack of certainty in your belief.

No , Having differnt veiws is how humans learn ... If some one gets mad because you have a diffent veiw from his ... Than he is refusing to learn...
