I do that all the time with my Wife and my Mum.

But it takes it toll on you - every so often I feel like punching the pair of them - but I don't!

If they were factually wrong and i could prove this by being factually right i would tell them but only so they had the correct info,not to be a know all.If they think they are right regarding other things then i would debate with them if i thought it was interesting enough.If they insist they are right i would simply beg to differ and leave it at that.

Unless they harm others, or themselves, let it be. But for the latter, it may be useful to remind the emperor that sometimes they are not infallible. Figure out what is important to assert your wisdom over, and which bits are trivial. I think you already have the insight to judge which things you pass over and which you would die in a ditch to resolve.

I once read in a book that some people have to be right, so let them be right, even if you know they are wrong. If you can prove it to them that they are wrong, then maybe they will say it, but don't hold your breath, because they just have to be right.

Yes if it wont make a fool of them later. Now if you know they truly need to know the truth then find proof like I do

Whatever it takes to shut them up. I hate talking to people who always think they're right because they usually can't be reasoned with.

If it didn't hurt anyone and have any lasting negative effect on any sitution then yes, sometimes it's just easier that way.
