i would hope the majority of people here know the story of "Charlotte's web". a spider knows how to read & write, & that saves a pig's skin.
but the more i think of it, the less it makes sense. i wouldn't keep a pig from his appointment with the butcher (& later my stomach) just 'cause an arachnid knows a few good words.
just the opposite, I'd capture the spider & sell it to some scientists to make a few bucks or so.
now you may think I'm cold hearted, but I'd say I'm a realist. protecting a porker from the chop block because a spider, NOT THE PIG IT'S SELF, can make words in a web is just stupid.
now if the PIG were to be able to spin a web with words in it, THEN I'll be impressed!

Did you ever really think about it? What would we do? We wouldn't be able to buy anything including heat or gas for our cars because the companies wouldn't be able to ring up our sales. . No disposable diapers. There would be no phones or medicines or even clean water.

Why are we so rude, fat, stupid, ignorant and annoying? What made us like this? Money? Whenever I travel I see us Americans so loud and obnoxious all over the place, I've seen this type of behavior in Italy, Germany and even Sweden... No wonder everyone hates us. If anyones still wondering I am an American.

America is almost obsessively anti-nudity, even to the extent of making public nudity illegal in some places, and yet they have many times higher rates of teenage pregnancy and abortions than European countries in which public nudity is common and unremarkable - On beaches, in spas, even in public parks.

Why is this?

Will we ever learn??? Its saddens me to see so many balck men in the system. But what can be done. Its too late for most of them. I know that most of our men are decent but you cant deny that the majority of men in prison are black. 90% of the time they are repeat offenders. They act like animals. They dont care who they hurt they will do whatever to you and not think twice about it. I know its too late for them but how do we stop the cycle?

Sex is everywhere....on billboards, tv, movies. No wonder there are so many unwanted pregnancies and STDS. If people had morals and conducted themselves accordingly the world would be a better place.

Sometimes I just get fed up at the behavior of other teens...and it's weird because I'm one too. Girls at my high school are total sluts and wear SO much makeup, and I couldn't walk anywhere in school without hearing the STUPID F word or some other cuss word. I've NEVER felt the urge to swear, do drugs, dress like a slut, be obnoxious, and I've never even had a bf. Sooo many people in school have had sex, have crazy keg parties on the weekends, think they're SO freakin cool cuz they have their license (and drive like 60 mph in the parking lot and almost RUN ME OVER)....why is this the norm????? I'm SO GLAD I've graduated from that freaking zoo. it's probably not just my school, it probably applies to most teens in America too. sorry I'm just ranting

Today I went into the Gents toilets at work by mistake - I'm new to the company and the toilets alternate - ladies 1st floor, gents 2nd floor. I usually work on the 1st floor but was on the 2nd for a meeting. As I came out of the cubicle a man came in and grinned at me - I was shocked that there was a man in the ladies. When I came out all the people in the canteen opposite were staring at me. I was too embarrassed to tell my colleagues - arrrrrrrrgh! Thinking about it now, it doesn't matter but I wondered if you had had similar embarrassing moments too bad to tell your nearest and dearest about?

Is just that seems to me this world these days is really consumed for this corporate-lawsuit ideology, maybe the kids did hurt 40 years ago but nobody made a deal of it, now even burning your tongue with coffee gives you an excuse to squeeze millions out of a corporation..... participate on the poll
are the kids, the toys or the lawyers.

I have read suggestions on this board, where people suggest that people should undergo drug testing if they are going to receive welfare or be on assistance programs. I think this is a great idea. Is there any reason why we don't do this already? If we are giving people money because they can't work or aren't working, why don't we test them to make sure that they arent' spending the money in the wrong way and if they are, then that assistance can go to someone else. I know there are waiting lists and there is never enough support to go around.

Serious question here. I read many of these questions and comments daily that blast the military are regurgitating ideology about what we should and should not do. Yet hardly any of the ones speaking like this has the courage or seems the intelligence to join the military. So why is it that so many who know so little about what it is like to be a service member claim to know what is best for those who truly serve. "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt." --Mark Twain.

I was just wondering. I was doing something somewhere and Sesame Street was on. I wasn't really paying attention, but I heard this song that Ernie was singing that caught my attention. I looked up and started listening and it brought back a warm, childhood feeling.

I used to love Sesame Street. I still watch it every once in a while. I think it's funny how Ernie keeps Bert from going to sleep and, oh yeah, I absolutely adore Elmo. :-)
