I was just wondering. I was doing something somewhere and Sesame Street was on. I wasn't really paying attention, but I heard this song that Ernie was singing that caught my attention. I looked up and started listening and it brought back a warm, childhood feeling.

I used to love Sesame Street. I still watch it every once in a while. I think it's funny how Ernie keeps Bert from going to sleep and, oh yeah, I absolutely adore Elmo. :-)

I fondly remember Popeye cartoons (which in retrospect were extremely violent and anti-woman--imagine calling Olive Oyl a bag of bones and a hank of hair today). I also enjoyed the Hanna-Barbera cartoons--Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, Flintstones, Jetsons, etc.
We didn't get PBS when I was a child, so I have no memories of Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers, etc.

I have many fond memories of Sesame Street and that's because I wasn't a child when I started watching it at the beginning.

There was so much I liked...but I especially loved the music. I love so many types of music and Sesame Street used them all. Jazz, Rock, Classical, Hip Hop, Folk and World. Joe Raposo wrote some great songs like Sing (Sing a Song), It's Not Easy Being Green, C is for Cookie, not to mention the theme song.

I also loved the guest stars that came on to sing, tell jokes or just to take part in a sketch. They got some amazing people on Sesame Street, from politicians to singers to dancers to magicians.

Then watching the regular cast come and go. I cried when they had to tell Big Bird that Mr Hooper had died; watched Savion Glover grow up and become a Broadway star. I'm old enough to remember the original Gordon.

And last but not least, the Muppets. The group that changed puppeteering forever. Not only because of the characters they created, but the technolgical inventions that had to be done in order to make those puppets seems like real people.

Bert, Ernie, Cookie, Prairie Dawn, Don Music, Grover, Oscar, Big Bird, who was the little kid until...Elmo. And of course, my absolute favorite Kermit T Frog.

Sesame Street is definitely one of the events that has had a major effect on the world. And fortunately, a positive one.

Everybody sing: "Sunny days, sweeping the clouds away..."

I can remember the lyrics to nearly every cartoon theme song I used to watch when I was kid. Funny how some things leave an impression on you like that.

Gummy Bear
Noozles
David the Gnome
Duck Tales
Dark Wing Duck

and so much more

I grew up watching The Great Space Coaster and I LOVED that show! I also have fond memories of the Pink Panther cartoon that would air in the afternoons as I got home from school.

With my first new child, i grow to be very strict and in no way placed on the t.v. My 2nd new child watched Sesame highway lots one week whilst we unpacked from shifting. I felt like the worst mom interior the international..till my 14 month previous counted to 20 interior the back seat of the automobile here week. i understand that did no longer come from me. nicely, I now have 4 toddlers. I enable television interior the morning and whilst I practice dinner at nighttime. On call for is a important gadget to reveal what your toddlers watch and supply them the shows you like on the time you like! besides, my youngest new child in simple terms grew to become 2 a pair weeks in the past and gets greater t.v. than any of the others. She is familiar with the alphabet music, she speaks in finished sentences, counts to 20 in English, counts to 10 in Spanish, is familiar with all her colorations, all her shapes, can come across better than 0.5 the letters, etc etc. I in no way have drilled her on any of those issues. i think of t.v. is a robust concern as long as you're careful approximately what your new child watches, and how lots t.v. your new child watches. The networks are making an attempt to place high quality shows on that particularly are advantageous on your new child. in simple terms verify it would not happen of high quality interactions with you. good success!
