Europe has very relaxed attitudes to nudity but America has far more abortions and teen pregnancies. Why?

America is almost obsessively anti-nudity, even to the extent of making public nudity illegal in some places, and yet they have many times higher rates of teenage pregnancy and abortions than European countries in which public nudity is common and unremarkable - On beaches, in spas, even in public parks.

Why is this?

you answered your own question. thats why. just like places that have no drinking age, or a much lower one have less alcohol related fatalities in car crashes.

Very good question!
America is TWO-FACED in many things. Very conservative, but if you have $$$ you can buy almost anything. Including a human life. And that is just WRONG.
Examples: adult=18 years, but can't drink alcohol until 21. Result = EVERY SINGLE teenager who wants to dring does so.
And what do you tell me about guns? USA is the country in the world where people can get a gun the easiest. What for?
Marihuana, the same. What is the big deal anyway? It is legal in Spain, Netherlands, etc. and just because it is legal not a majority of the population smoke it. Also, in the US, drug addicts are treated like criminals and locked up in jail. In Europe they are treated as they are: patients, people who need help and get it from a FREE health care system that really CARES about their citizens. If you are a jonkie you need HELP, not being locked up in jail.
Euthanasia, abortion, etc. etc. etc. Look, with abortion US is specially two-faced. When teen agers get pregnant, they tell them: know your options. Which means they will brainwash you to keep the babe, usually using religious arguments. Please! That is so wrong. You are messing that girl's life forever. She made one big mistake getting pregnant; do not have her making another mistake by having the babe. Actually, Bush says the only contraception method should be abstinency. Does ANYBODY REALLY believe that is a contraception method. So when a girl and a boy want to do it, they just stay away of it. Ask yourselves if when you were teenagers and were horny did not have sex just because the commander in chief would ask you to do so. C'mon. That is a big joke! Educate our children so they know how to make wise choices, instead of putting them the fear.
Pornography, exactly the same.
Prostitution, illegal. And it is everywhere.
Gambling, prohibited, and people is crazy with gambling.
And many many other things like that.
So the problem is: you prohibit something, and you actually are increasing that people want that more and more.
America needs to revisit a lot of things if it wants to be a modern true liberal country.
Oh ... I forgot about sex ... Look, while American people waste their whole time talking about sex, WE do it. So less talking and more doing it. And nudity, what is the deal? I've been to nudity beaches not becaue I am a pervert and in need of looking naked women, but just to tan my whole body. And in a no-nudity beach. 80% of women are top-less. And believe me: no one cares and there is nobody staring at anybody's breasts ...

I think that we let the religious right tell us how to act and what to think rather than doing what is truly correct. Knowing that my children wouldn't be taught sex education the correct way I started to tell them about their bodies and the repercussions of having sex before they were ready when they were little. I started by letting them know the parts of the body using the correct terms for them. I think that people who are afraid of sex are the ones who make up stupid names for body parts and bodily functions. If you treat the body as you treat everything else and don't' make it mysterious and frightening than children grow up accepting it as part of life. So far my children have not had any children that they don't' want or can't care for. I have a fifteen year old who wants to be come a psychologist before she has children. Teach them about their bodies and give them a reason to have a life beyond high school and you're less likely to have unwanted pregnancies.

That great observation is proof or the fact that evolution is true. America is still in the evolving stage as it is only by percentage an offspring from Europe. Just give them a few more hundred years to catch up OK.

The fact that so many religious nutjobs are so afraid of their body and their sexuality it makes the kids want to explore it earlier and earlier. Kids like to rebel. They always will.

You can have sexual relations with your clothes on, or at least part of your clothes on. I don't think nudity has that much to do with sex. I guess a sexy young nude woman is arousing to a man, but I think a sexy young dressed woman is arousing to a man. even a picture of a sexy young woman's face is sometimes arousing to a man, at least I have been told. I am not aroused by a naked man with a great big gut. actually I am not really aroused by naked men. But my husband touching me or whispering in my ear is something else again, dressed or not. Most abortions and teenage pregnancies come from people too lazy to use condoms or other birth control. And then they try to get rid of the consequences.

i.ve been to europe a couple times, 7 different countries and it is extremely relaxed there ... over here in the states, society looks down on nudity and sex in general ... and because that is bestowed by officials we grow up thinking nudity shouldn.t be accepted and sex shouldn.t be explored when its the natural thing to do ... so when we start reaching our sexual peaks, we feel the urge to break rules and because its so unwanted, nudity and sex in large, younger adults tend to do it more often because its not allowed or wanted ...

do you know what i mean .?in europe, its no big huge deal because its so widely accepted ... i hate america .
