It was a very good question and there were several very racist answers. This is just one example, I've seen it in other questions and the answers to them as well. Is it just because of the anonymity of the Internet that people write this way and is this Y! Answers a club of the racists, or is this normal in America?

I'm not American and don't live in the US.

Sometimes some of my friends, and even close family, make racist comments (obviously not directed at me) which I find offensive. Being as close as I am to them, I usually just try and ignore it and turn a blind eye, but it's becoming increasingly hard. Sometimes it really winds me up and I just want to speak up and challenge their racist views, but at the same time I don't want to jeopardise our relationship (especially where family is involved). Does anyone else have this problem?

the other day while grocery shopping, the lady in front of me was dressed nicely, had lots of jewelry on, long fake nails, an expensive looking weave, a cell phone, lots of name brand groceries, a case of beer, some alcohol(some kind of rum) asked the clerk for two cartons of cigerettes, and when it comes time to pay she pulls out one of them FOOD STAMP CARDS!!!!!!, pays for her food seperately with that , then pulls out a big wad of cash to pay for her cigs and alcohol!!!!! What is up with that ?!!!!! why are there so many black people on welfare living high on the hog??? I work five days a week , so does my husband , why do our taxes pay for people like this??? IT PISSES ME OFF!!!!!

Why do Asians meet or exceed the same levels of achievement as Caucasians, but other minorities have less success?

For example, results of studies regarding the success rate of students in grade school always show a large gap between Hispanic and African American students and Caucasion and Asian. Why do Asians, a minority group that has experienced great racism in the past (in America), including internments/slavery, etc., continually find success in all areas, yet other minorities don't?

I hope this doesn't come across racist or anything, because that's not my intention. I do think it would be beneficial to understand, to better enable us to provide the best resources to all citizens.

When there is as much, if not more snow in Scotland, it rarely gets a mention in the TV yet today all news channels just went on and on about snow in England. The motorways and main roads are kept open here and people don't moan but just get on with life, but somehow south of Scotch Corner moaning is a way of life.
Leave for work a few minutes earlier, drive slower, etc. It's winter and snow is expected! Are the folk of London so soft they can't handle a little of the white stuff? I suppose they will all want financial compensation because of the great hardship they are facing?

I think this is the real issue! People and society is too soft now and used to an easy life, and a few inches of snow becomes a major problem in their lives!

Are there any snowploughs in England? Gritters? Were the councils involved ready for snow or were they expecting another heatwave?

I cant help to notice on this show that this might be a form of entrapment...some of these guys will probably never try to meet a minor or even come across one.and are they being led on?on the latest show this one guy locked himself in his home after he was caught and commited suicide,he might have gone the rest of his life without messing with a minor...has dateline gone too far where people are dying now?and i AM AGAINST SEXUAL PREDATORS ESPECIALLY WHEN CHILDREN ARE INVOLVED BUT THIS SEEMS LIKE IT MIGHT BE GOING TO FAR.AND NBC IS GETTING GOOD RATINGS OUT OF THIS IM SURE.

I once read somewhere that fewer than half of all Americans read more than one book a year. Why is that? I know that many people have become mentally lazy, thanks to the instant stimulation provided by TV and the Internet. That being said, though, one would think that a person would want more mental stimulation.

When I started using the internet in 1994 I used a chat room that was poulated only by adults. As the internet became more popular some teenagers started using it so it wasn't that good to use as I stopped.

Are there any good chat rooms out there populated only by adults that don't contain adult content?

If there are, are they guaranteed to be free of teenagers and children?
