I think its good when it snows & schools & business grinds to a halt, its like a festival day of lazy pleasure for adults and fun for younguns.

in these protestant work ethic 'Time is money smithers' days its good to have days like this.

agree or not??

i got out of work early today because of the snow. i think it's great! too much focus is put on work and not enough time is spent chillin out. it's all about money these days which is very very sad.

I'm afraid I think it's rather funny that everyone panics as soon as they see the snow. I'm sure that other countries would be appalled at the way we can't cope with it.
The Schools all close(great for the kids of course), the supermarkets run out of bread and milk all because they think they will get stranded.
I'm sure that all the panic mongerers are a bit disappointed that it's pretty much all cleared now so we can all go back to normal.
Sadly i had no trouble getting to work today and it's unlikely I will get snowed in a home tonight so I can look forward to a normal friday...yippee!!

the UK cant cope with heat either, wait till summer comes, it'll be the same problem when things grind to a halt. I suppose until only recent years our climate was more temperate, not too cold and not too hot, the porridge/temperature was just right as in goldilocks Now we get more extremes. Scotland being further north would be more used to snow anyway. They wouldnt be so used to the heat we get down south in summer.

Hey, you're just saying that because you think global warming will keep it to one or two days a year. How do you like days off to go boating on the pennines huh?

I love it when it snows, but life seems to grind to a halt. We never got days off school because of snow. In fact, we went out into the playing field and played at snowball fights.

I think its great, there's far too much rushing about these days anyway, I took today off and went for a long walk in the snow.

The park was full of parents with their kids making snowmen, little kids were walking along looking amazed by the snow.

there should definitely be more days like this, when people get to have fun for free, though I suppose the government hate days like this? well sod them!

I don't really care how the UK copes with snow, since I don't live there.
And I don't want to see anyone put a risk but, I do think we could handle the snow better than we do too.

a lot of countries have longer and more severe winters than the UK - but they don't come to a standstill every time the word 'snow' is whispered
i am mighty fed up with it -i am much older now and nothing has changed in my lifetime
