i8 am a alaskan native and not very proud of a part of my hertiage from how poorly they hold themselves up in the world. the stereotyping here is unbearable and people form the lower 48 think so primatively of alaskans so what do you think about alaska?

what do you think we have or do here?

I absolutely hate to hear this word used among the black culture. However, i understand that it has become a term on endearement within the culture. Yet, if one insists upon using the N word...why do they insist upon using it in front of the white race. I think the word is an inappropriate word and even moreso in front of a race that created it originally as a derogatory term for blacks. How do you guys feel about this word and how would you feel if this word was eliminated from the english language.. All opinions welcome

And were you embarassed about it? On Monday, I was leaving work and almost crashed into my ex. I saw him later that evening in a meeting and he brought it up in a friendly way and said "I thought you were going to crash into me." I got so embarassed....I just joked and said I was preoccupied with putting on my shades (sunglasses). I forgot to apologize. I still feel weird about it.

My gruff,wrinkled weathered face ,that i allow ,when the snow flies seems to evoke rejective behavior in the women i most admire. My rough exterior is meant to insite seasonal affirmation of change but the results of this endeavor beligh the obvious. Are there no women left who respect me in this labor of love? Hi,
my name is Sam, male 20, India. Im student of Software Engineering. I have seen lots of friends in my life with their different attitutes and behaviours but my heart never satisfied after meeting any of them. Now i got sick of all. I find as if everyone were just living for his own sake. But i dont want to live for myself. I want to do something in life. I want to do something that feels me that im successful. But im confused. I dont know what to do. The reason is i cant do it alone. I want a real friend. Infact im in a search of someone very thoughtful to whom i can share everything. I could not find anyone in my area thats why im taking the mean of internet to help me. About a month ago, we had a shooting in a movie theater during the latest showing of Black Christmas. The shooting was gang related. About two weeks later, Stomp the Yard is released. The general manager in this area decided to not show the movie for the first few days it was released. However, he WAS willing to show the "R" rated gang movie, Alpha Dog. He has since supported his decision to not show Stomp the Yard (even though he eventually did allow it to be shown. My question is this: was he justified in his decision? (saying that it is his theater chain and he can do whatever he wants to do is not a good answer)

They always blame it on the Jews.... Hitler, Ahmadinejad, Mel Gibson, etc. all wanna blame the Jews for every war on the planet. Why is it then that Darfur, Chechnya, Indonesia, Somalia, East Timor, the Phillipines, French suburbs, and of course the entire Middle East are all wars being carried out by jihadist Muslims against infidels? Can anyone find a current conflict that doesn't involve them? Who is REALLY the cause of all the wars on the planet?

I like history, and pedagogical matters in general. I think education is great.

However, should we still keep celebrating Black History Month? Personally I have no problem with it, but I wonder if it causes a divide among people...what I mean is that perhaps it drudges up negative feelings and connotations of the ancient (and shameful) past of America. Of course, I am alluding to bondage.

What is your view?

the american schools are in the lower ranks of other developed countries? I've been reading "The schools we need, and why don't we have them." That to me is really horrible, we live in a great country but our future generations have crappy educations. What is your opinion as to why this is, and what do you think can be done to prevent it?
