I absolutely hate to hear this word used among the black culture. However, i understand that it has become a term on endearement within the culture. Yet, if one insists upon using the N word...why do they insist upon using it in front of the white race. I think the word is an inappropriate word and even moreso in front of a race that created it originally as a derogatory term for blacks. How do you guys feel about this word and how would you feel if this word was eliminated from the english language.. All opinions welcome

I think it is terribly ironic that blacks who use this word insist that they are being mistreated by whites, when they insult themselves by using a word which was created by whites to be deragatory towards them. The "n" word is terribly offensive, no matter who uses it, or what context it is used in. I am white, and I am terribly offended when I hear this word.

Everyone who expects respect FROM others, should model respect TOWARD others. Whoever a person is, whatever color a person's skin is, whatever a person's lifestyle or belief system is - none of those mean a thing if that person cannot show respect for their fellow man, whether or not that fellow man shares their skin color, lifestyle, belief system - or not. You have a very valid point and anyone who calls someone the "n" word is displaying ignorance and stupidity. I feel sorry for such a person.

I agree the word is derogatory and I wince every time I hear it regardless of who is spitting it out. It is gutter talk and really has no place in polite society.

That being said: Words only have power when you allow them. For example the word "chicken" could mean a tasty dinner or a person who is frightened depending on the context.

The "N" word has a lot of truly hateful history behind it and is used because of the response it illicit from either race (positive or negative) I believe it would be impossible to remove it from the English language.

the clarification it bothers everybody is through fact it incredibly is maximum generally meant to be demeaning. it incredibly is the actual challenge. i assume among black human beings it incredibly is different, not in assessment to once you call somebody you be conscious of a foul call - now and back you're merely fooling around, others you at the instant are not. despite if, you are able to turn issues around. everybody undergo in strategies Flex? The 'romantic form' reggaeton guy from Panama? in the Latinamerican international, he's prevalent as Ni g ga. It substitute into in basic terms for the rustic that he had to locate a clean degree call. the clarification he chosen N as his degree call is through fact while he substitute into as quickly as observed as that at a teach, he desperate to be happy together with his roots incredibly than insulted by the understanding. i will not in basic terms like the guy, yet i think of that substitute into the ultimate attitude he could have had approximately it. He grew to become the understanding right into a kin call, and he made the call advise somebody cool.

I don't understand how black people can use it and get away with it. If I say it I'll get my *** cracked. I think that if its such a bad word, no one should use it, reguardless of race. No matter if a term of endearment or not. You don't hear Mexicans calling each other Wet Backs? Whites calling each ither Crackers? No. The people using the word are ignorant to the history of it.

As long as ignorance exists the word will be used, and since the entire human race, (that being the only race that should matter in this instance) is born ignorant, it would be up to the generations born before them to teach otherwise.

It is in cirulation because it is in use. It's really that simple. As long as people employ the word it will be "norma loquendi."

I wouldn't miss it. But I'm afraid that we are equally responsible for the continued use of the word.
