Great question...and very important.

I don't want to criticize anyone's beliefs...as they have their right to them. As I do mine. But I would think that Pro-Life believers should make no exceptions...a life is a life...it did not ask to be created, nor did it have any say in the way it was created. Isn't that what is always said on the Pro-Life side?

What is the difference between a rape victim and an innocent young girl who is ill-prepared and uneducated, who finds herself pregnant from being co-erced to be with her boyfriend before she is ready. It isn't rape, but she is in no way emotionally or mentally prepared for being a parent. The fact that she was so easily persuaded suggests this. And forcing her to carry a baby to term will not serve anyone well.

Many pro-lifers do NOT make an exception for rape victims. Some don't even make an exception to save the life of the mother.

If I had to guess, I would say that those who make an exception for rape victims do so out of compassion for the child who might be severely neglected or abused because of the grief/trauma of the mother.
