My 28 yr old son invited round to his house for the night and has now gone out and left me alone. I have been warned NOT to go into his room.

I have no intention whatsoever of sneaking in there but I am really intrigued.

He's an adult and you should respect his privacy. My parents always believed in that and it is one of the best things I can say about my parents (among many others). As with any relationship trust is the key. Not only should you respect his privacy but understand that he is grown up and whatever is in that room is his business and no one else's. I think he would really respect you as a person if you don't go in. And as a mother isn't that what you would want?

At 28 your son is responsible for him self. He may have evidence of a girl that hurt him, or language he used on something you would not approve of. Don't break his trust. Stay outt of his room

Wow, Well lets see, there could be porn, drugs, weapons.....who knows. If you are worried that he might be into something badyou can check....but I will mention the fact that if you do go in there and find something bad and confront him about it it might not be good.

I don't know the situation so it could be nothing.

Bet you if you went in you'd only find a pile of jazz mags, a tub of E45 and a load of hard tissues down the side of his bed .... 'kinell, I've just described my room!

You should respect his wishes,if you go in there you may find porn, sex toys, indecent photos, womens clothes that he wears or something more innocent like a surprise present for you.

Sounds like he's testing you - complete the task and pass with flying colours by not going in and respecting his wishes. You're in his house, he's not in yours

if its his house, why would you even consider invading his privacy by going in there? would you want him going into yours?
I think its a perfectly reasonable request.....I dont go into my sons room in our house without his consent. Its just common courtesy IMHO

As he is 28 years old I wouldn't worry about it. Respect his privacy, he's an adult. Its probably something harmless but personal.
