America is the only Industrialised country where health services are a priviledge ... In every other country -- Britain, France, Germany, Holland, Italy Canada, Australia -- health services are a right.

Also, it may be better to be a rich man in the USA but if you are of a lower class, you're much better off living in one of the above countries.

We have been getting nusiance phone calls tonight, girls voice, saying my gay weekly magazine has expired, among other things. Getting sick of it, (i have a caller display unit) i answered the 6th call, told them their number, that the police had traced it, and will be calling on them. I got a call 3mins later from my daughter`s best friend, she is only 10, she was sobbing her heart out. She was messing around with her older sister and her friend, and they were just messing about, thought my daughter would answer. She was distraught, i had to calm her down, told her i have not called the police, i was just bluffing, did not know who was making the calls. I feel really sorry for her now, she is a lovely kid, should i feel bad, or maybe the little monkey will learn from it?

Okay, I know this story is just there to give us a good laugh, but the way Morrisons are talking makes it seem like they're taking it seriously! I used to have to ID people buying alcohol, but I draw the line at demanding ID from OAPs. Ha ha!

An 87-year-old man was asked to prove he was over 21 when he tried to buy a bottle of sherry in a York supermarket.

The former Lord Mayor of York, Jack Archer, said he was shocked - but flattered - when asked the question by staff at Morrisons in Acomb. He said: "I don't look my age but I certainly don't look young enough to be in trouble for underage drinking."

Morrisons said staff had to ask anyone buying alcohol to confirm they were over 21, or provide proof of age.A Morrisons spokesman said: "We do not wish to cause offence and no disrespect is intended. We take our responsibility with regard to selling alcohol very seriously" yadda yadda yadda.

YES, BUT THE MAN IS 87. Lunacy!

The government seems to think Britishness is a series of virtues that are peculiar to British people...for example, fairness...tolerance and generosity...

Are they your experiences of Britishness?...or do you have others?

What does a dream of a dead gold fish mean? I had a dream that my friend took a small gold fish out of the tank because it was dead. She then split it open, and I saw a pouch-and commented that is where the baby fish should have been. I have heard and believe that fish means pregnancy-but dead fish???

My local mailman is a real jerk. He maced my dog through a screen door. Like my dog could have really bit him through a door. So to get revenge on this gutless/ coward mailman, I went to the public mailbox (the standard blue ones) he picks up at and scooped 1/2 gallon of chocolate fudge ice cream in it. I then waited from afar to see the look of disgust on his face as he tried to make sense of the ruined ice cream soaked mail. Now hopefully when he brings this back to the post office he will be fired for getting his ice cream on the mail. Don't you agree this is great karma for an animal abuser?

Not just those two issues but are you prepared for any kind of emergency. Getting stranded in the cold and snow somewhere, being out in a dry desert w/o water, etc.. What are you prepared for? Or are you not?

I have been reading up on eastern philosophy lately and it seems to me like most of it is all about finding peace and love. I don't understand how China and North Korea and most Indo-China nations could be so brutal if they really follow the ideaology people like Confucius, and Buddah. I guess the same goes for the middle east.
