I quit my job awhile back because I didn't like the way other employees were being treated...
I let them know exactly why they lost a good employee.

(I felt kinda heroic and stupid at the same time).

I am no hero for my actions. I am not asking for pitty or any type of comfort from any one. I just want to share my story.
A baby was born in a closet at a house party. He weighed 3 lbs 6oz, two months pre-mature.
Indian Child Welfare removed him from his mother and placed him with me (because I am a license foster care provider) after being in the NICU for 3 weeks.
I got up every hour to feed him 1/2 oz of formula. I remember how angry he would be when I had to feed him when he wasn't hungry. Slowly but surely, he started gaining ounce by ounce.
I was granted 2 months off of work to care for my little soldier.
Today, he is a very health and normal 4 year old boy. Joe is my heart and soul and with out him, I am nothing.
I LOVE YOU JOSEPH!!

My kids and I were in McDs and the woman on the table next to us just so happened to be the scariest nutter you could ever meet - she had a happy meal and was playing with the toy that comes with it (at that time it was Narnia figures - I think she had Lucy) - she was banging this figure against the table and yelling DIE DIE DIE - ALL CHILDREN ARE EVIL AND NEED TO BE PUNISHED AND KILLED!!! and then violently punching, banging and stomping on this toy.
It was clearly scaring everyone, especially all the kids, so I decided to try and strike up a conversation with her to 'calm her down' - it worked, I sat there for about 30mins chatting to her - and although clearly not all there, she was quite ok to talk to (unless the wrong subject came up - such as kids or people she didn't like - where upon she got very loud and acted very aggressively) but finding the right subject kept her calm.

Apparently Aslan from the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (Narnia) told her to punish and kill children. She apparently talked to him on a regular basis and he hated kids and basically wanted them all killed.

I got a standing ovation when she finally left!!!!!!

Scary, but I would have taken her down if she had dared to harm anyone, especially my kids!!!!!

I wish I could claim to have done a huge amount of heroic things but I can't. I helped a lot of teenagers get sober, but I can't take credit for that because they did it themselves. I'd still have to stay that's my most heroic thing.

I'm not sure if you would consider it heroic, but I have found myself the new mother figure for my husband's children. Their mother died the day after Christmas at the young age of 46 and their father and I are doing our best to be the best parents we can be. I also have a son of my own, and this has brought the family together FULL CIRCLE. I am excited about this opportunity that God has provided, but the tragedy surrounding it clouds my vision at times. I think our best heroes should be our parents and I will strive to that end. Wish me luck.

God's peace to you.

Chilbirth, then bringing them up!!!! alone, and scared, grew up fast and did it, they are great,,,,
To some a minor heroic deed, but there are two young adults out there who are committed to making this world a better place...maybe someday they will be heros in the ruest sense of the word, they are my heros!!!!

Pulled a semi-loony woman off the edge of a platform (she was sitting on the edge with her legs dangling, silly cow!) at a tube station just as a train was coming in.

I'm no hero... I just try to live my life correctly... but I think every time I confess my love to another it takes courage...

Okay, I once walked in front of a line of moving cars to stop them so that my friend could get her car into the junction and out of the way of another line of on-coming traffic... maybe the danger was small, but it took a bit of guts to do it...
