Okay, I know this story is just there to give us a good laugh, but the way Morrisons are talking makes it seem like they're taking it seriously! I used to have to ID people buying alcohol, but I draw the line at demanding ID from OAPs. Ha ha!

An 87-year-old man was asked to prove he was over 21 when he tried to buy a bottle of sherry in a York supermarket.
The former Lord Mayor of York, Jack Archer, said he was shocked - but flattered - when asked the question by staff at Morrisons in Acomb. He said: "I don't look my age but I certainly don't look young enough to be in trouble for underage drinking."
Morrisons said staff had to ask anyone buying alcohol to confirm they were over 21, or provide proof of age.A Morrisons spokesman said: "We do not wish to cause offence and no disrespect is intended. We take our responsibility with regard to selling alcohol very seriously" yadda yadda yadda.
YES, BUT THE MAN IS 87. Lunacy!

Spensmum, I do understand that. I'm a retailer myself, so I'm used to asking people for ID. (I got ID'd all the time until I was about 27, which infuriated me, but that's not the point.)
I'm definitely NOT complaining about salespeople doing what they are told to. I just find it an incredibly stupid policy when someone is clearly a geriatric. Waste of time, money, and effort (and I say this as a Store Manager who also has to ensure such rules are followed)
