We have been getting nusiance phone calls tonight, girls voice, saying my gay weekly magazine has expired, among other things. Getting sick of it, (i have a caller display unit) i answered the 6th call, told them their number, that the police had traced it, and will be calling on them. I got a call 3mins later from my daughter`s best friend, she is only 10, she was sobbing her heart out. She was messing around with her older sister and her friend, and they were just messing about, thought my daughter would answer. She was distraught, i had to calm her down, told her i have not called the police, i was just bluffing, did not know who was making the calls. I feel really sorry for her now, she is a lovely kid, should i feel bad, or maybe the little monkey will learn from it?

Indeed the little monkey will learn from this. You've done all you can by letting her know you haven't called the Police and that you were bluffing. this will teach her not to make prank calls, i've had done to me and i was scared by the calls i received.

Good luck x

p.s - Onion boys picture looks like "John Tickle" former Big Brother contestant...ha ha ha !!

The exact same thing happened to me when I was about 11 or 12 years old. My older sister and her friend got a hold of one of the school teachers phone numbers at home, and got me to call her and say I was pregnant. The woman was so sweet and offered so much help to me, even a room in her home!!
I felt so horrible, that I called her back and confessed.
Anyway, tell this little person that you are not going to get her into trouble, BUT that you could if you wanted to. Tell her that the next person may not be so understanding, and she could find herself in front of a judge with criminal charges. That will for sure keep her from doing that ever again. Its my guess that she probably won't anyway - she sounds really sorry for it - but it wouldn't hurt to drive it home. You would be doing her a real favor if you make her understand that what she did was illegal.

Ha Ha Ha!!!

That's some funny sh*t...

You handled business just like you should have.

We need more people like you in this world. Don't feel too bad- you could reasonably have called the girls' mother and let her know exactly what the little monsters were up to...

You have a right to the quiet enjoyment of time at home, and they'll think twice before prank-calling anyone else.

Sounds like the older sister was having fun at your daughters friends expense, making her make the call etc,, Do't feel sorry for her, serves her right, she obviously knew what she was doing, so getting caught will be a blessing in disguise in the long term,, learnt her lesson early

She's testing the water of an adults world; seeing how far she can go before she gets hauled over the coals. Her tears were probably crocodile tears.

She will learn all too soon that what she did was unacceptable behaviour that or she will grow up to be a little toe rag.

No, you shouldn't feel bad. Consider it a lesson learned on her part! She was just playing around, but sometimes people call the wrong people and it can turn out to be even worse then what you did.

Don't feel bad, what she did was wrong. Even more, she's 10, she knew she was doing something wrong. Hopefully this will be a lesson learned for her. Just know that YOU did nothing wrong and let go of the guilt.

She will learn that each and every action has an equal and opposite reaction, let her simmer on it for a bit.

Our society has stepped too far back from consequences for kids that misbehave.

You have taught her a good lesson in life. Not only that but she is not the bill payer and should not be abusing use of telephone.
