you always here wheres the parents when a child or young adult does something bad like burglary , etc . when in my inpinion its the law makers fault that we have so many of our young in jails etc . what do you guys/gals think

I have had this debate with many of my friends and I am not sure at all whether Dyslexia is actually a real thing.

So, dyslexia means that they find it hard to read and write, but a few years ago a child that cannot do this would just be called "thick", "stupid" or "bad at it"... not dyslexic.

If someone can't do something... they just can't do it. Not that they should be ridiculed for it, but we could go in to details for reasons why people can't do other things and give them a name, but there is no need!

Say for instance that a child is bad at football, should there be a special name that means this? EG. 'Footlexic' Why not just say, "He's bad at playing football"?

Went to an interview at State Farm (claim's rep.) and during the interview they asked me questions about how many fiction books I have read, how many friends I have, do I plan to stay at the job forever, what movies do you watch, do you have any pets......WHAT IN THE HELL DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH ME GETTING OUT OF BED, GETTING TO WORK ON TIME, DOING THE JOB AND LEAVING ON TIME. I know State Farm is a very conservative company that cancels policies on people who own guns in their homes but this is just sad. What is the point of all these questions? What type of person are they looking for?

Is that not age discrimination? I'm sure it could turn into (and does) discrimination against anything, without having to explain your actions? Help me understand.

I went to Outback Steakhouse yesterday for the first time ever. Apparently the people I went with go there a lot.

The waitress came over to our table and said, "I'm sure you've all been here before." And no one believed me when I said I hadn't! They looked at me as if I had a 2nd head.

Thesis: People should be concerned about the advertising their children are exposed to for three reasons: some advertising creates materialistic, illegal, and health behaviors.

I thought I would use this as my soap box to kind of let it be known to other races that not ALL white people are racist. I'm sorry that there are white racists out there, but I don't want you guys to hate all of us just because of these dumbasses. I grew up in a black neighborhood and my best friend is black. I want you guys to know that we aren't all hateful. I guess what brings this out is the new developments on the 1964 murder case in Mississippi, which is where I'm from. I know we're seen as backwards and racists, but trust me, we're not all like that. It seems no matter what we do, though, idiots, black and white, tend to make us seem horrible. I could say the same for the world. Most of the world sees Americans as self-centered and domineering. I wonder if the countries that we help think that way. Don't you hate it when you're in a shop or somewhere then someone (assistant) comes up to you and asks loudly:

"Are you alriiiiiiiiiight?"

as if there's somthing wrong with you? Who exactly is that supposed to generate a sale?

Sorry girls, I find it especially annoying when a girl says this to me as they put extra effort into the Alriiiiiiiight bit!

Why not just ask "Are you looking for something in particular? Or Can I help you?" etc

There are so many homeless children now. Would birth control now help the situation in the future? Why do people keep having babies if they can't provide for them. I know there are many reasons why there are homeless American's. But to keep having babies. I don't understand why and I would love to have someone explain it to me w/o sarcasm or judgement.
