FYI, this question is not aimed at teachers.

I believe that we fail to educate our children about the following:
1) Managing finances.
2) The importance of college, what will happen if you don't go and what steps you need to take to go. I believe this should be taught from a very early age.
3) Starting in KG we should be taught why we are even in school...I asked both my son and his friend whom are in second grade and considered above average intelligence if they were aware that they are in school to prepare them for the adult world; they had no idea.
4) Proper diet. Look at the menu on the average school menu, its loaded with Fats, Sugars, and bad Carbs.
5) Positive thinking. I feel we don't teach kids to believe in themselves.
6) Innovative learning techniques. The only one I was taught was to create an acronym out of something to remember it. I have seen entire books on tips and tricks for more effecient ways to learn. This should be a course in itself.

This is first time when I am putting my thoughts on net so may be I will find plenty of like minded people. There are certain things which I feel that if we work on we can become a very nice country to live in, lets start from our roads, the way we behave on our roads can put any civilised person to shame. Can anybody explain it to me that why we are always in hurry the moment we hit the road? We are full of time still we show as if we are going to miss some millions if we delay for 5 minutes. Why so? We start honking,we start driving like brainless rats,we forget that there are others also on the same road.We become I ,me and myself, thats it.We care damn about traffic signals,we make sure to stop on top of zebra crossing. What education we are giving to our younger generation, they are going to follow us only and who knows that they would be worst than us!! Just go abroad once and see the difference I am pretty sure that you would be jealous of them. Why can't we be like them??????

Alcoholism is a good example. I see it as a choice, not a disease. And if alcoholism is a disease, then why isn't smoking, or overeating.

Seems to me that aloholism is an addiction, not a disease.

I was born in Eastern Europe and now I live in Canada. When I recently visited home, I tried to contact the hospital where I was born to see if anyone can give me any info regarding the time I was born but it was absolutely not possible. Since my mom doesn't remeber and there are no official papers stating that, HOW can I ever find that out? I should mention that I am curious about this information since I would like to figure out my rising sun, etc (astrology stuff). If anyone can help me, I will be forever thankfull. I am trying to figure this out for several years now. Many thanks in advance!

As more an more people are getting degrees. I've certainly seen that even after working so hard to acheive a degree in a good subject you still have to do smaller jobs gaining experience spending around another 5 years of your life before getting a job in your dream career.

I'd be very grateful for your useful comments. Especially if you have recently graduated from subjects such as Economics or Criminology. If you have gained a degree in one of these subject can you please also let me know what you doing right now. Are you working in your dream career?

I have a situation on which I would be interested in some opinions. As I tried to leave for work the other morning a large delivery truck pulled up in the road by my flats and reversed so it was blocking the exit from our car park (very out of order in the first place). After looking in suprise at the driver and frowning I finally went over and said "Excuse me, could you move I need to get out" - he smirked and said "you're not very polite are you?" - I had been perfectly polite. There were a couple more rude comments from him before he finally moved. I was so cross I took his number plate and reported it to his company. A couple of people at work thought I was very amusing for doing this and that I over-reacted, however, I felt that if you let this sort of thing go then these people will carry on being rude and it will just get more widespread.

What might you have done? Was I right or should I have let his rudeness pass?

OK I know this is old news now, but in the UK they are proposing a change in laws which would mean that girls who were too drunk could not give "meaningful consent", and a man can face a rape conviction if he can't prove she gave sober consent.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=410535&in_page_id=1770&in_a_source=

I understand they need to be able to make more convictions but this is very dodgy in my opinion, we could be convicting men who just thought they got pissed and had a one night stand. People fall into bed when they're hammered- the line between that and rape will be very blurred if they go ahead with this, when I think right now any reasonable person can tell the difference.

What does everyone else think? Does anyone support this proposal, and why? What would you suggest men do to avoid a rape charge after a date where they shared a couple bottles of wine, or after the booze-fuelled office Christmas party?

Ill put it like this we are alredy a dieing race as a whole , add more chaos and confussion on top off that .
