Good question, because sometimes it IS a choice.
Now that I'm 41, I've decided to just be myself, whatever that may be. I'll let others worry about the labeling. Good, bad, ugly - it's all out there. It's not easy for a perfectionist Libra to admit she's not perfect!
I identify myself as a person first and foremost. I rarely think of myself as female; usually just when it comes to the limitations thereof.

Hmm... that is changing lately!
I used to identify myself as somewhat of a yuppie, but since I dropped out of grad school, moved across country, and decided to get "into" my art and self... I don't identify myself with my career or friends anymore.
Right now I'm choosing to call myself a BullS*** artist and identify with others who are full of it.

. a mom. a cree woman. a daughter. a sister. an auntie. a cousin. an a addictions counsellor. a healthcare worker. a support worker. a traditional person.
it all depends on the person i'm interacting with. whats going on. my surrounding. i have alot of different identities. one would not fit the other. all are important to me......but the most is being a mom.
