This is first time when I am putting my thoughts on net so may be I will find plenty of like minded people. There are certain things which I feel that if we work on we can become a very nice country to live in, lets start from our roads, the way we behave on our roads can put any civilised person to shame. Can anybody explain it to me that why we are always in hurry the moment we hit the road? We are full of time still we show as if we are going to miss some millions if we delay for 5 minutes. Why so? We start honking,we start driving like brainless rats,we forget that there are others also on the same road.We become I ,me and myself, thats it.We care damn about traffic signals,we make sure to stop on top of zebra crossing. What education we are giving to our younger generation, they are going to follow us only and who knows that they would be worst than us!! Just go abroad once and see the difference I am pretty sure that you would be jealous of them. Why can't we be like them??????

Indians are civilised enough but the thing is many of us indeed lack the attitude of following rules which are meant for betterment. We just have inculcated the habit of finding faults in our existing system. There cannot be a drastic change but gonna take time.Firstly, the reason for such a rush in Indian cities is bad roads, on going construction, reconstruction and reconstruction. Traffic is concentrated in big cities as people migrate to bigger cities for better life.Unlike in America where such a case doesn't quiet really apply as the sates are quiet uniformly developed. Its not the Indians but the government needs to be civilized to take care of Indians....
If you are an Indian you should know it yourself the cause and solution of this problem....You know what the best solution would be decentralization and reduction of development gap between rural and urban infrastructure.....

You did not specify which Indian you are. India's indian?

Well then I will tell you something. It is nice to take note of your own hang ups. It is great. But remember one thing. You have a population of a billion or more in a very small space. If you were to bring this very population elsewhere, what do you think the scenario will be? The same. Nothing different.

Small roads and too many people. I think the drivers are brilliant to manouver their cars and vehicles in these circumstances.
If you see american and canadian roads, you will be shocked. Wide roads and each car in its lane. Very organized traffic. And they still have bad accidents. So if you were to start having billion or more people in these countries, it is going to be the same.

I think Indian traffic is the most brilliant system I have seen.

So call yourself what you want. It is good to know you are a rat's ****.

Ah, culture....you can't just dive into another one. You would want to read up on it and put your best foot foward, NOT on the gas peddle! Make the best of it, live and learn and teach our future what you have learned. If you are deciding to live an other culture, and are frustrated, YOU can make a difference in so many other ways. You are talking about being an Indian from India, yes?

You think that's bad? You should see Atlanta...

Zebra crosssings? Like the animal? The closest thing we have to that are wiggers high on meth, walking out in front of traffic.

There is civilised and there is civilised.

In America, if someone gets annoyed at your driving, they simply take out a gun and shoot you.

Is this the civilised you want for India?

Chaos beats murder, hands down, in my opinion.
