Just wondering why people think its a black thing, and why black people who speak it think I look down on them. I think it't the other way around; Black people who speak ebonics look down on me because I don't speak it and feel there is no excuse for anyone who does. Most people who speak ebonics choose to do so because they're afraid that the other black people will think they're a sell out. Well you know what? Call me a sell out, because I will not degrade myself to speaking ebonics to get others to accept me. Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings.

Maybe God meant for it to happen. Like it was part of his grand plan. Maybe God told that person that did the beating, "OK, I want you to pound on him repeatedly and then drop him off in an alley next to the projects. Then he will decide to live there and become king of the hood and will be super tough. Then he will come back and find you years later and beat the crap out of you. And he will go back to the hood to celebrate and buy a new home in a good area with the money he stole from your wallet after he beat you up."

Hi there,
We are currently having problems with kids from this one household, there are about 7 kids plus parents living at this address. The kids there are just plain rude and they won't stop playing infront of our house and making rude gestures, throwing sweet wrappers, playing ball games (which wrecks most of my lovely flowers!) and swear infront of any passer by!

What can we do? We've spoken to their parents, but they are just too busy to care.

When thier children perform poorly in school we blame the parent. I too agree that it is the parents job to 'raise' the child and not the school's job. However, it seems to me that in the US we currently have an overabundance of parents (and even grand parents) whom were not given proper guidance and education during their own childhood to lead a successful and fulfilling life. Can we realistically expect these parents to instill values, ethics and positive attitudes that they don't even posess themselves? As a society, does it seem necessary for us to take action to end this vicious cycle?
