Why are we obsessed with strangers we know only through media knowledge and not everyday heros?

The international signs for bathrooms in the world is a stick person in pants for the mens room and a stick person wearing a skirt for womens room. What do they do in Scotland? wouldn't it be confusing with the kilts and everything? What symbol would they use in Scotland?

My parents got a job in Richmond, Virginia, so we are moving down soon. Im worried the kids in my classes are going to make fun of my because I'm from Canada or something?

Also in the US are Canadian teens and American teens alike? I mean, is there the usual goths, punks, preps, jocks, bullies, nerds, dumb blondes, etc, in the schools?

Its so simple to get most people to conform to things like a political view point or, you will do something then someone else mimics you why is that? Some people are so easily fooled like me and you for instance, but do you think that we can be programed to think in a certain way or react in a certain way well I believe we can and we are by the fedaral government. I am almost 99.9% postive that they are monitoring what we say and what we are saying that is one of the reasons I believe for this website to see what we are concerned about what we talk about its mind- blowing how people can so easily be controlled and its happening everyday. I was wondering what your view is on this particular subject? Also how do you like your life being controlled in basicually every aspect , I just thought I would throw that one in there to.

Why isn't it racest to have an African American History Month, a Black Movie Awards, and a Voices of Color Film Series (that only includes african american movies) ? If it were white instead of black, people would go crazy. Why not have an Indian american history month, an Asian American history month, a European american history month, and so on? If there were a White movie awards, it would offend people. And if you are going to do a Voices of Color film series, why not include other colors instead of just black. I am not racist. I have several friends, from several different backgrounds, but I have always felt like I have a gag when it comes to this subject. I am asking a legit question. Please don't respond with "you're racist."

school administratrators have forrbiden saying the pledge of allegiance during class time or asemblies due to the phrase "under god". Consider religion in American culture, the history of the pledge and the phrase under god...

why should it still be alloud?

Why do they think they are the greatest thing on Earth, and too good to talk to anybody them deem beneath their level? People like that piss me off. I'm just wondering why so many more drag queens are like this than anybody else.

I earn £1400 a month gross self employed...

I have just started out being self employed. Before this I was a student and paid a scholarship which was tax free and reflected a salary...it was around £25K but was intended as a student bursary and therfore the inland revenue said I would not be taxed. Before that I did not work but lived off savings and stayed rent free at parents (in the past I had given my whole salary to them..so they were ok...with me living rent free). Before that I worked as a self employed person for a few months before deciding to go into full time studies (which my parents helped me...as NOT working). Before that I worked on PAYE for 3 yrs.

I am a bit scared as although I want to get a mortagage I have no proper pay history and now do not have sufficient accounts as I am re-starting as a self employed person. I have no accounts as I have just re-started...so can I get a mortagage and if so whixh one?I My mate suggested avoiding a conventional mortagage a

how would the veil wearing muslims feel if they were met by ku klux clan wearing people, ie the bus driver?- wouln't they be intimidated, isn't it anti-social?
