What's funny to me is that people just don't do the math when they buy one of those things. They'll pay an extra $6,000 to save $20 per month on gas. It just doesn't make sense.

Now the E-85 makes sense. Anything that reduces our dependence on Arabs is a good thing.

I think once the price comes down, people would buy them more. I'm with Pops, that E85 is a great thing, and we should be pursuing that like crazy. The hybrid cars look fine, but the price doesn't equate to the gas savings, although I'd rather give my money to a Japanese auto makes than a Saudi any day of the week.

Yes, less expensive and more available. Up here there's a waiting list for most models. The gov't ought to give some type of tax break incentive to encourage people to switch and for being good citizens.

I hope not. If everyone starts to get 50-60 mpg., the government will lose revenue on gasoline tax. How will they solve that problem? Raise the tax on gasoline. I would hate to be forced out of my full sized, gas chuggin', ecology crushin' pickup truck just because gas will go up to $5-6 a gallon. I hope they don't catch on.

Too bad for you. I plan on buying one shortly. I do not care what it looks like. It will save money in the long run.
